sounds to me like you have an air leak between the mass air and the intake...

That sounds right...you almost have to be getting unmetered air into the engine somewhere. If that's not the case, then your O2 sensors are shot.

The A/F is way off though...either their sensor was on the fritz or he has a serious problem. You're right though, the dyno numbers aren't all that bad.

AF is suposet to be 14.7:1 how is this off? Most stock Z28's show a RWHP of about
297 so 307 for the SS is just about right for the claimed 10 hp increase over over the non ss versions. Besides just think how much money the mustang guy's have to put into their cars to get 307 RWHP

Yeah, at part throttle closed loop its supposed to be 14.7:1, but not in open loop. When you floor it, like on a dyno run, it switches to open loop and uses power enrichment to shoot for a richer number so that you don't run lean. An afr of 12.7-13.0 is about what you want for a NA application. I'm sure he'd gain power after giving it more fuel.

Well, if you are getting unmetered air into the car, chances are it isn't idling too well. If it is idling okay, I'd check the O2 sensors next. There is still always the possibility that their wideband was screwed up. Those things don't last forever.

Okay...if the idle is okay, try swapping O2 sensors with someone.

Couldn't have said it better myself.....

And as for those stating that those numbers are about right

I have owned 2 '99's and now own a '00 WS6 and all dynoed 320 RWHP/ 330 RWTQ or better with a LM and lid ONLY(no tune)......A/F 12.7-12.9 on a DynoJet

You will get better numbers when you cure this issue.
