Exclamation Firs Dyno today and not good

I got my car dynoed today, and the A/F ratio showed I was running WAY lean, it was anywhere from 16 to even 18 on the first run and pretty much the same on the second run. We never got a full run in, he shut down around 4200 rpms so nothing got messed up. I just recently installed LT headers, 3" TD's, !air, !egr, !cats. Would this cause it to run this lean, I always thought it would cause it to run rich . Im going to setup a time to get it Tuned but want to make sure that there is no other problem. Thanks

You are correct in that those mods "should" make your car run rich. At that kind of A/F ratio, you better get that thing tuned in a hurry ! !
......I'd be surprised if you haven't already done some damage, if it's been driven a lot.

Good luck ! !

...I've always heard that headers will make you run leaner. Most people just think they are running rich because they can smell gas due to the deletion of the cats. Also, the placement of the wideband sensor can affect the a/f ratio readings...

Well, LTs do often make you run rich b/c at part throttle your fuel trims go further positive and these are also applied to wot. What did the 02 sensors show for comparison?

If your ltrims go positive, then the car is running lean and adding fuel to compensate for it.

If they go negative, then the car is running rich and removing fuel to compensate.

Do you hear any audible ping? Did he dyno any other cars that day and if so, what was their af ratio? It "could" be a thing that his wideband/dyno is out of wack.

Good point that the wideband might have been "out of wack" - but with those mods it's a good idea to get a tune anyway, even if there was a dyno issue.
