Guys...

Just to confirm....The 225's in question were milled .018 and installed on the motor as they come delivered from AFR. Essentially "out of the box" with no additional hand finishing or port work.

Mike also flowtested the intake port after they were milled and the numbers on an independent flowbench met or exceeded AFR's advertised numbers.

I believe Mike will post all the details along with the dyno gragh.

We were certainly pleased with the results.

Thanks,
Tony M.

Here's the graph. You can see the a/f go lean and also look at the torque curve where peak should be. Felt funny on the dyno...lol.

What do you guys think this car would gain in going to a Dr. Gas 3" X pipe? Customer wants to put one on.

Don't know about the "X" pipe, but by looking at that gragh I would say there is certainly more power to be tapped into with the right A/F ratio. I'm guessing it will HP peak somewhere close to 6600 RPM's when you get the proper fuel pressure and A/F ratio dialed in.

I think we should see 560+ when the smoke clears....not to shabby from a pump gas 402 CID.

Good job guys...

WOW, sweet setup. I'm pretty sure I already know the answer you're gonna give, but I gotta ask, what are the cam specs? If specs are secret, can you at least give a range? (230*-235*, 235*-240*, etc)

Shawn

forgive my ignorance, but does the SLP 402 have provisions for knock sensors? or is this still running w/o them?

It does have fully functional knock sensors mounted on the sides of the block.

Another 20 ft lbs of torque from an Xpipe?

Anyway, stout numbers, 600rwhp looks like it's on the horizon now!

WOW!! Very nice numbers. From other dyno graphs of AFR heads it even looks like the A/F ratio could be tweaked a little leaner in the low/mid range for some more power.

Mikey - What did the final compression ratio work out to on this engine? Thanks

11.6:1 SCR. We'll be back on the dyno next week sometime to finalize the tune with the new pump.

A new pump isn't going to help much if you keep those small injectors.
