Dyno Question (not sure which forum)
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I have a question about my dyno results. I have a stock '02 WS6, and I went to Speedtek this past Saturday to get the thing dyno'd. They ran all three pulls without saying anything and afterwards I asked what she put down. They said 319hp/335tq. I was blown away thinking, "There must be something done to this car I'm not aware of." (The car was bought used) So, I thought about it all the way home without looking at the sheet (I was in a rush). When I got home, I saw where the problem was. Here were my pulls:
1) 306/325... SAE=0.99
2) 306/322... SAE=0.99
3) 319/335... SAE=1.00
Now, it's been explained to me that you divide your numbers by the SAE correction factor to obtain numbers that are comparable to other vehicles in different atmospheric conditions. Therefore, my first couple runs can be calculated to roughly 309hp in comparison to the third pull. That's still a 10HP difference between two pulls. Is it normal for a dyno to vary so much or be so inaccurate?
