Default Advise I was told by a tunner that a a4 car with a stall will put down lower hp #'s

Hey all:
I was told by a tunner that on a a4 car with a stall will put down lower hp and torq #'s on a dyno compared to one without a stall.
What do you all think?

Is true.. However, you'll be faster/quicker, and put down a much higher percentage of the FWHP to the wheels with a high stall TC, as opposed to the stocker I hope that made sense

Its true about the HP but not about the tq. The tq should be alot higher with a high stall converter.

Engine tq, what the dyno #s usually show, will be lower, axle tq will be higher.

HP numbers don`t win races! But I wouldn`t trade my A4 for anything. Granted my numbers are pretty good!!!!

Real men drive their cars, not watch them from a distance.

i dynod my 98 once at a carshow, it put down 307hp and 282tq. I was pissed. That was with ftra, lid, pacesetter lts, ory, rumbler. Stall was 3500 tci. I couldnt belive it. Prior to that my best pass was 12.65 @ 106, after the dyno i went 12.5 @ 107 3 times in a row. So my times were always there, but my numbers were hella low. friends of mine with the same mods(6speeds) were putting down 333hp/345tq, but runnin 12.8,12.9. I guess its what you care about, braggin about a dyno queen or running a good time.
ps: if my 02 doesnt put down over 325 I'll be pissed!!

To give an example of what a stall will do on the dyno, my friend just had a cam installed on his '00 vette. The tuned numbers before the stall were 352 rwhp, after the stall the numbers dropped down to 338 with no other changes. I know the numbers seem low but consider that this car still does have the factory manifolds.
