Only time will tell, ok, the fact of whether a spring can hold onto that themselves is another issue all together. The fact remains, the original numbers would be increased because the extra rate increases the aggressiveness of the lobe thereby increasing the apparent size of the cam because of these rockers.
So wil it work or not?I have a XE-R cam. Think I'll go with a set of HS rockers instead.

so long as you have the correct piston to valve clearance and correct spring height, they'll work. joe vinci has them on his 408.

It's just my opinion, but I wouldn't run these rockers on a XE-R lobe. The XE-R is the hardest lobe out there, and there is a reason no one has made a hydraulic cam harder than that. Adding these rockers would inded make the ramp rate faster, and I just don't think it is a good idea. Some people might get away with it for a while, but the valvetrain better be stout.

I've been using a set of Crane 1.80 rockers with my custom grind Cam Motion cam (its ramp rates are just a hair less aggressive than the XE-Rs) for quite awhile now and I've had no problems whatsoever. I think Beast96Z hit the nail on the head. Use the right valvetrain components, ones built for the job, and you won't have any trouble.

FWIW, my car is running stronger than it ever has before.

I am running the 1.8 crane rockers with an custom crane ground cam. I am not sure how aggressive the lobes are vs a comp xe-r lobe. The cam has a .638 lift with 1.8 rockers and the combination works great.

Any numbers on the 1.7's...I think 1.8's, according to TEA and Tony Mamo might be a little much in my case.

I have been looking into something like a MS3 cam or F14-15. Would it hurt to run the 1.7s on a cam like that, or is going to cause too many problems?
