stock vs Yank PY3400E converter

first two dynos are in 2nd gear from 15mph SAE and ACTUAL. the before dyno was started at 10 mph. had to move up to 15 mph because the tires broke loose on the dyno. the 3rd and 4th graphs are in 3rd gear at 72 mph SAE and ACTUAL.

Nice to see that the Yank converter is no less efficient up high as the stocker and multiplies torque a lot better at lower rpm. Kinda like having your cake and eating it too. Awesome converter. It's what GM should have put in from the factory.

Did you do any unlocked vs. locked runs? There was only a 5 RWHP difference in my car when we locked the converter, I was impressed.

no i did not. i do not have a way to lock it at this time.

Oh well... I'd assume your car would be similar to mine in that aspect, maybe pick up 5-7 HP locking the verter.

locked vs unlocked is nice to know. but, i run unlocked. so, not worried about what it would get me locked. maybe once i get something like hp tuners and can lock it, i'll look into it.

Looks like you gained on 3 out of the 4 graphs, but lost a little on the last. I'm putting in the same convertor right now. Can't wait

the last graph is the same as the 3rd graph. just in ACTUAL instead of SAE. that way you can see how the correction factor affects the numbers. same with the first two graphs. first two 2nd gear 15 mph start. second two are third gear at 72 mph.

as far as feel goes. it's great. just had to get used to having a stall again. need more pedal push to get started. been almost a year since i had a higher stall converter. i couldn't start the after pulls at 10 mph as i did with the stock converter because the tires broke loose. that should give you an idea of how it feels when you punch it.
