452 rwhp - no head work...

Default 452 rwhp - no head work...

Specs:

2003 6.0 LQ4
heads milled .030
stock head gaskets and gm bolts
custom grind comp 232/238 595/605 112+2
comp 918's and Ti retainers
ported Mac Mids with 3" merge
dual 3 magnaflows
ASP underdrive pulley
home ported TB
truck intake
8.1L truck injectors (32#)
LS1Edit
custom intake setup with round K&N filter
Spec 3 clutch/steel fly not
steel driveshaft
12 bolt truck rear with 305/45/18 nitto drags

Best run: 452/422 on a dynojet above ground dyno.

Now have a aluminum flywheel so prolly close to 460. Absolutly no port or polish or cleanup work done on the heads.

I was impressed, anyone had similar results?

maybe its just me but shaving heads to increase compression is in the headwork category

Whats peak Hp at with the 6.0 bottom end?
or even, what does it rev out to? Cant be as high as a Ls1, can it?

it's a 6.0L motor, not an LS1, but still great #s for a stock truck intake manifold and Macs IMO

I guess it just depends on how you look at it. If I had gotten the LQ9 block I wouldn't have needed to mill them because the compression is stock where mine is now. I mean the 5.7 is 10:2 stock. So am I...

I thought everyone considered the 6.0 a Ls1 motor. It is definitely a gen III motor just like the 5.7. Even the stroke and rods are the exact same thing...

peak was at 6400. Actually it leveled off at 6400 and we let out at 6600.

I'm just saying the extra cubes help a bit, but the numbers are still awesome!

Altering the heads is head work no matter how you word it. Compression has nothing to do with you stating no head work and then saying they are shaved. Congrats on the numbers, nice job.
