Default Absolute 2.5 5.3's & G5X3

Just thought I'd share my results. I was a little dissappointed in the peak numbers but my tuner said that my exhaust was really restricting me. I think a cutout is in my near future.

Other mods on the car are:

MTI Lid w/powershot
FRA mod
FLP longtubes w/offroad Y
SVT 30#'s
TSP double roller
LS6 Ported Oil Pump
Hardened Pushrods
ASP underdrive Pulley

I was spinning the heavy Z06 Chromies. I know I'm leaving a little on the table with the stock throttle body but I still think I'm missing some power somewhere.

What cat-back? Cut-out? These are huge factors.

I thought your numbers would be higher.

Only basic mods missing are the Ported TB, and the cut-out.
You have O/R pipes.

How old are those heads? New?

Yeah there is another 15-20 for ya and a TB and pulley will really help too. Finish your bolt ons and really wake her up. If you have the money, go 90mm all the way. Great power jump though assuming heads and cam were the only changes between dynos.

These heads were new Absolute Speed stage 2.5 CNC version 5.3 head. I bought them about 3/4 a year ago and they flowed 314CFM at .600. I wish i had the AFR's instead but they were unavailable at the time.

Cant expect tip-top numbers while half-assing it. Finish ur bolt ons and get a decent flowing catback and or cutout OR HELL both. Then re-dyno. With a cam and heads like that a TB and pully, as well as a cut out would be an easy 20hp throughout the curve and maybe even more up top because ur choking that bitch hehe.

just for comparison, i made 440rwhp with my absolute 2.5 5.3's and g5x3 112...untuned and was a very conservative dynojet. that was through the cutouts and i do have the 90mm lsx and tpis TB. ill have new numbers monday that will be from a mustang dyno.
my heads flow exactly what yours do going by the flow sheet.

Adding a $30 cutout will easily gain you 8-12rwhp over the Dual Dual muffler. It flows well enough at stock power levels but it's still a internally baffled 2.5" muffler. Ported TB's seem to be picking up 7-10rwhp on stock cars, I would imagine the same or more on your setup. These are a few things you could do to eek out every last bit but your area under the curve is very strong. Nice setup.

The car feels strong up top but the dyno #'s just weren't what I was inspecting. I know the dyno is just a tool and the track results will be the real indication of the gains. I was really suprised how docile this cam is once the car was tuned. With the dual/dual exhaust the car is extremely quiet and hardly shakes at all. I did opt for the cam on the 114 lsa in case I decided on nitrous later on down the road.

30th t/a - Do you feel like the 90mm lsx setup is worth the money? That's a lot of money for ~20rwhp.

a lot of people say they dont like the driveability of the 90/90 ? Like i said man, get a cut out or two and finish up on ur bolt ons and u will be happy. Like ryan02ss stated, ur power under the curve is outstanding!

Unless I miised it. Is the car an A4 or M6? what gears? 10 bolt or 12 bolt? After doing the rest of the bolt ons Im sure you will have the same results as most others have with that combo. Most are in the 440hp range.

My car is a M6 with the stock 10 bolt and stock 3.42's->I know..I know. Run it until it breaks is my motto right now as cash is short right now. I'll finish up with the cutout and throttle body and have her redynoed. Anybody have an idea how long the stock clutch will hold up with moderate abuse? Car has 24K on her right now with about 1K of it at the power level posted above.

if you got or can get it the money i say buy it. if not, atleast get a ported TB.
mine made peak rwhp at 6600-6700 which is higher than your peak and i think thats from the 90mm LSX. i have no driveability issues and its not even tuned. look for some deals on this site for a 90mm TB and LSX 90mm, you can save alot of money.

Here's the plan: ASP underdrive pulley, Cutout(electric is nice), Bo White ported TB.

Old numbers:::413 rwhp

IMO new numbers:::440 rwhp

pulley= at least 10
cutout= at least 10
Bo TB= at least 5
totals= 25 rwhp (being moddest)

Well, you already have a pulley but the looks of your list, so I'm not sure why everyone is suggesting that.

Those heads should be good with that cam, so its a decent set up.

For the exhaust, a cutout might help, but you never know. On my set up, it was worth about 2-3 rwhp, and that was it. My dual-dual exhaust was fine. Of course, my cam is smaller - but my numbers are about close to yours.

What was your tune like? A/F? Is that a dynojet you're on, and is it a conservative dyno? Some dynos can vary be 20 hp on a 400 rwhp car. So you may have nothing to worry about.
