And thats it, typical bolt on car. Doesnt even have a pulley, and has MACs.....And the car PULLS STRONGGGG. Guess he just got a good one. Only bad part is, as we mod it more, it will probably level out with everyone.....yall know how that **** goes.
no UD pulley? Maybe a short belt mod wouldnt hurt either for a few more dyno ponies?
Did you make a pass without the air filter to see if it made any difference? I'm curious about that one regardless of breaking any records.

8 rwhp is still big enough to feel though... hhmmmm

BTW, those are some sick bolton numbers...congrats. I hate dynos, get her to the track.
That was a single pull on a gawd-aweful hot/humid day.
MikeH:
The car had, when you got it:
170* thermostatic fan sensor
Ported MAF
Fernco
Free 160 stat mod
FRA mod
TB bypass
Throttle stop mod
EGR tube mod
PCV update
Fresh plugs
MTI lid
Dynomouth (First one EVER!)
Not much really...
The car was always very strong, I had a feeling that it was a 'freak' of sorts.
FWIW:
Honda ATF works best in the tranny.
The rear has Mobil 1 gear oil with GM posi additive.
The engine has always run synthetic. Syntec at first, but Mobil 1 0w40 for the most part.
Bosch platnums worked best.
Anything under 93 octane and it rattles.
I also always ran Teflon in the engine oil. (Greased Lightning brand... but only the small bottle of pure Teflon, not the big bottle that is mixed with 30w oil.)
I was told long ago, don't know if it's true or not... 98 production saw some shortages of Camaro spec engines and that Vette LS1 long blocks were used during those times. The only difference that might be there if that was the case would be slightly more compression and a slightly more aggressive cam.
Might be a bunch of bull, but the source was knowledgable.

Are you sure it locked up?
I threw them left and right just by accellerating aggressively... but the AC always worked when I put the belt back on.
On the post about the car possibly having parts he doesn't know about:
No way.
The car was bone stock, just turned in by a longtime police officer after completing his lease. The car had the original tires on it when I got it. That was in Early 2000. He got the car in late 97 or early 98... don't recall anymore.

With that much timing and that lean a mixture I am sure the dyno numbers are legit.
Sorry dude, but I have beena round quite some time and that much timing and that lean a ARF, I can not see this car running well at the track. I am no tuner that is for sure, but I have seen enough cars tuned to know that that just does not look right.
But I could be wrong. Winter is comming, take it to the track and see what she does. Should be an 11 second car easy.

No offense, but I just don't see how thats possible.
