Default need some help from the blue oval boys...

Guys, (and/or girls) is there any way an 04 Mach 1 can make 432 RWHP and 536 RWT with bolt ons only? A guy that lives near me showed me his dyno graph and those were the numbers. The car ran 12.16 at 116MPH with a 3300DA. I think he's spraying around 125 shot, but claims to only be a bolt on car. I know that he has LT headers and a chambered exhaust, MAF, CAI, programming, and a 3.73 gear.
So, what do you all think?
BTW, he won't let me look under the hood....
Thanks

The torque number is a dead giveaway that he's hiding something. Even the best motors in the world have a hard time making torque that is more than 125% of its displacement. Anything above that number would require additional displacement or an atmospheric boost.

281 cubic inches x 125% = 351 lb. ft. of torque (on an engine dyno). That's about the best you can expect naturally aspirated, regardless of the rpm. Look for an undisclosed power adder for sure.

Umm....aren't there more than a handful of LS1's out there putting down over 430tq at the wheels???? Which would be over 125%? I mean its clear that this guy is hiding something, but I don't know if your formula is correct...

most bolt on machs barley get past the 320's in rwhp and with that kinda torque hes spraying or has a blower somewhere but 12.1 116mph isnt close to what his numbers should be producing .

As far as making that power with bolt ons he's full of ****. Like was mentioned before Mach's pretty much max out around 320-330rwhp before you have to tear into the motor. With a rwtq number like that he's spraying something into that 4.6L.

The formula is accurate for most cars running pump gas. To exceed 125% torque for displacement, you usually have to be running sky high dynamic compression. I doubt there are many unboosted 346s running pump gas that are making over 430 rwtq. They would be the rare exception if they're doing it with 93 octane. 125% of displacement is a good rule of thumb for a pump gas motor.

You said he's spraying a 125 shot. Those #'s would be about right given 300+ rwhp with bolt ons and a 125 shot.

haha did the Mach 1 owner really think he could get away with saying he has a bolt-on car that makes 432 rwhp and 536 rwtq? Like everyone has said it looks like a healthy shot of nitrous, especially with such high tourque numbers. Are you racing him sometime soon? If not try to have someone find out what he is running but its definately not a bolt on Mach 1 for damn sure.

time doesnt match up to power #s. My friends 98 GT 5spd ran 12.6 on 100 shot. I'd look for a nitrous setup under his hood. I could bet you money it's under there.

It's a grey and black Mach. Those numbers match pretty good for the way he drives. He shifts to second at redline regardless if he is spinning or not. I was pretty sure it was nitrous. Thanks for all the replies guys.
This guy has been gunning for my uncle and I for over a month. We have been stomping on him since he bought the car. After this last round of "bolt ons" as he calls them, he told all the local guys that he was going to smoke my uncle first and then come after me.
I guess I'll just have to go order my heads now...
Thanks again!

BTW, my uncle has an 02 Ram Air M6 with most bolt-ons. His are truly bolt-ons. He has ran a best of 12.5 @ 112.

The Mach 1 picked up almost a second in the quarter going from what he calls a cat back and a CAI with a MAF to LT headers and a bigger MAF, Chambered exhaust and tuning... and the top secret juice...

All three cars are running on Nitto DR's.

And he told me that I couldn't see the headers because of the "big heads" on his car... seemed more like he didn't want me to see the other "bolt-ons"

Maybe I have been looking at this all wrong. I probably should have asked if nitrous is considered a mod on a Mach 1?

Let's hear the story anyway....

well, take it from me, there is no maf that makes that kind of power on a mustang. 99% of the maf's out there, do not make any power, all they do is make the car run lean, and increase timing.

A tune on a mach 1 is worth only a few ponies, as long as the car was not running lean. They have a great knock sensor calibrations and add timing when needed. The last one I had on the dyno, i just added a very small amount of timing over stock.

Just by those numbers, one of 2 things. N20, or he is counting converter flash in that torque number
