Default 6 year old stroker 370 dyno'd

at first i was dissappointed with the #'s. but i didn't have the cam specs at the time of the dyno tune.

but the specs sort of made me feel a little better:
.523/.530 lift, 114 lsa, 216/220 duration

TQ is more than my mild h/c formula made (by 1). the rear in the rx7 is IRS w/4.10's so that probably eats up more hp than fbody rear. it was 90 degrees in the shop. this motor went 10.90 in camaro in 2001 (3450 with driver). this car weighs 450 lbs less than that one

makes for a fun little car.

update:
had low fuel pressure due to low voltage to pump. rewired it and fixed the issue and got retune:

so i gained 23hp and 22 TQ from last dyno session. and the torque curve is even nicer.
went to track but it was packed, lousy prep, tons of street tired cars, only had 1 pass, spun and axle hopped like crazy:
1.88 60 ft, 11.5 at 122.5

its so nice i'll try to fix the wheel hop with 1) new lower control arms with rod-ends (pettit launch control kit), 2) diff brace which is like a plate to connect bottom of diff to sort of a DS tunnel brace, 3) experiment with different launch techniques (ie, less RPM, more clutch slippage, etc).
it'll get worked out thanks guys! cartek tuned.

2MCHPWR,

Wassn't that motor originally in Mickey's black Camaro SS M6? If it was i remember that car. Talked with Mickey about his car and i saw a little etching on the block near the passenger side head. The etching said " More 370cid ". And i watched him go an 11.03 but i forget the MPH. I was floored by his E.T. especially since it was December of 2000. That was impressive. I heard later when bigger and better cams were available the car hit 10's all day long N/A. How much was the crank offset to get 370cid? In a program that i just found on the net, if the bore was opened up to 3.905" it looks like the stroke was in the 3.85" range. Either way it was awesome. Take care.

Blacknight, yep, its Mickey's old motor. he went 10.9x at 124.xx in like 2001 also. but its always had the same baby cam (216/220 .523/.530 114 lsa like yours?). I don't know the details but it has Wiseco pistons, Lunati rods, and Scat 3.90" crank.

prostock, no plans for more power. i gots me enough

I saw your home page..that car is beautiful. T
hat has to be a blast...
i raced a guy from our club gulfcoastmuscle that has a '94 i believe red rx7 with a '01 ls1 in it..he had a thunder 224 cam with ported manifolds and ported stock 241 heads. we ran on the way to a dyno day. He put down 399hp and like 36x tq i believe. I put down 442/424 . We ran from a 40 punch (me in second gear)(he started in third) and he caught up to me and broke dead even before we shut down at like 140. If we kept going that thing would of rocket shipped past me. All i am trying to say is that those rx7's with ls1's in them are bad ***! Congrats on your setup!

thanks man! so he kept up with you even though he was in a higher gear, and he has 40 less hp....thats the benefit of at least 600 lbs less weight my car with no driver was 2730 lbs.

when i raced him my car weighed 3490 w/o me (190) and he was right around your weight. He started in 3rd instead of second so i had a good jump on him off the bat. My car was procharged with 4:10's so torque came on instantly. I held him off till about 125-130 were he was on me and then got even with me at 140 and we shut down because we both ran out of 5th gear. lol
It most likely would have been alittle different if he started in 2nd.
That weight and aero's make a big difference! awesome car, i bet you will surprise alot of people with it! I want one now!
