Dyno Satursday - Hypertech or No?

Question Dyno Satursday - Hypertech or No?

I've got a 1998 SS that I'll be putting on the dyno for the first time Saturday - mostly stock with a lid, magnaflow catback and 160° thermostat.

I got the Hypertech to reset the fan temps to match the thermostat, but I've never used the "performance upgrade" feature, frankly because I don't think it will help any.

I will not have time to dyno once, reprogram with the hypertech, then dyno again, so my question is - Which will yield bigger numbers, the stock tune or the Hypertech tune?

I would do 1 pull without and 1 pull with and lets see the difference it makes. It should pick you up. I hope

hypertech may help, may not really depends ont he car. i mean its worth a shot to try it if you wanted to but if it was me i would run it how it is now

When I had my 99 Z28 with a lid, exhaust and pulley it picked up 9hp but did gain some mid tq. Now if you have headers or anything more I would take the tuning out since the hypertech is tuned for a stock car. With your mods I would deffinatly use it.

I'd do one pull without and one pull with, but I dont have time to switch between pulls.

Here is my Dynosheet from a year ago the first 2 were with the hypertech the last without. You make your own conclusions.

Its a 2.0 b series motor running anywhere between 26-35psi depending on the track conditions. She makes 620whp@28psi.

See Sig. But the only mods that affect hp where 160 stat, Lid, K&N, Smooth Bellow, and TB bypass. This was trough stock exhaust. I planning to go to the dyno this sat. to see if the ory, and borlamouth bought me any more ponies. My guess is I may have lost a bit of torque under the curve but will not know until sat.
