kevin, just noticed something. you should look into the weather station on RX's dyno. it shows insane humidity figures. no WAY its that low of a humidity. talk to kyle or dino. your figures may be lower than actual lol.

Default Springs Retainers Question

I have a cam that the guy gave me when I bought this car and it is unused and in box. Its a Comp Cams 25-MS3 ,.50 - 238/242 Lobe Seperation is 113
Lift is 605 610 and I was wondering what springs and retainers I should buy for this setup. I was also curious as to what pushrods to use if I need hardened/chromoly or if I should stick with stock ones because putting a pushrod in is easier than doing lifter/valve work. I first read the specs on this cam and was like then looked forward into the near future and so if somone could give me a little help I could get it in and get it tuned. I also have shorty headers with a true duals through x pipe.

Comp Cams 921 Kit, Comes with dual springs, seats, retainers, and seals....worth the money, and will last much longer than the 918s. :yup:

or go with the prc duals they are proven and are alot cheaper than the 921's also i think that cam is a tsp grind and they recomend the prc duals with there cams.

Great numbers man. I only dynoed 351whp w/ a Z06 cam. I don't think i'd want a bigger cam though, cause it would appear that you sacrifice low end torque. Let us know what your track time is.

Kevin(CamaroSS) isnt worried about low end torque. He just wants to get down the 1320 as fast as possible. And he definately can do that pretty quick. Awesome numbers Kevin, let me know when you'll be at BMP so I can watch you beat down on some cars.

If the money is available soon enough, I will give this cam a go. I spoke with Jeremy today about it. I would like to see how it will do in with my m6 and true duals. If Kevin can get 65 hp gain with an unlocked converter, I would hope to see something in the 410 range. I will redyno before I get the cam in so I can see what I am making hp wise now with the 12 bolt and heavy duty ds.

Damn obrien, your going all out arent you. I wish I could throw a 12-bolt on my car, and then put a cam in. Are you gonna dyno on the 24th with everyone?? If not, then you definately should. I'll see you on the 24th and 25th.

low tq numbers? lol. he made nearly 1000 rwtq on the convertor spike 4000 stall doesnt need low end tq. this cam will make it but the dyno results are messed up due to the convertor flashing so high. on a 6 speed it will make more tq on the dyno. in real life, kevins car makes PLENTY of tq!

Stock throttle body.......gonna port it soon I hope.

Thanks for the comliments guys. As cool as dyno numbers are, the only numbers that matter are what it does at the track. I.....did......pretty crappy. I need to figure the car out first, it took 4 runs to get the suspension right, it was nice to have John(gator) there to help me out and get the suspension set right. Car still spinning due to bad burnouts, line lock seems to let go after a while and I am forced to cut out on the burnout.

Going to BMP tomorrow to get some quarter mile times, but the good news is, I found the problems. Bad new is I need to find a way to remedy them, from the mph (90) and the times I was running, I should be able to snap off a 11.6-11.7 tomorrow if everything goes as planned. I will try some new stuff, identify the line lock situation, and see if I can't get a 1.6 60ft.....even though I want to run a 1.5 I don't see it happening tomorrow since it will be my 6th pass on the cam, and my first real pass on the cam too....

Good luck going low 11s. I would think it would take alot more power than that to get low 11s.

Not in an automatic....just a LOT of seat time......a lot!

If I am running the times I am with 1.76 60fts, I can't wait to see what she runs when I can finally get it to pull 1.5s!

You do realize that the graph shows my before and after times, not my torque and hp.

If I had my torque on there it would look like this \ straight down from almost 1000 rwtq. I made about 340rwtq almost all the way through though....

I am doing a little at a time. I bought the rear, and a couple other goodies with it, now I am starting to pay for the cam along with a fuel pump, and injectors. I will just start putting money toward the cam and install and once I have it paid for it will go in. I won't have a cam by dyno day, but I do plan to dyno to see what I lost through the 12 bolt, and play with some different nitrous jets
