I know the guys at East Coast Supercharging have made right at 600 RWHP on something like a 454 cu in engine without power adders and some LS6 heads we did. They post on Corvette Forum

Judson Massingil from SAM made 680 rwhp NA with his 418 ci solid roller motor with ported LS6 heads. He went low 9s at 154 mph NA with the motor. I believe he's working on something more potent right now.

Do you want that on pump gas or race gas? 600rwhp on race gas is simple... Pump gas is a challenge. We did 553 rwhp with an LS2 402ci on 93 octane.

Unless you plan on solid roller, which im guessing you dont want as you dont want to run race gas either, i'd say it will be a while before guys are making those numbers w/ a hydraulic roller pump gas LSX motor.

With the 4.200" sleeves coming out from Darton and the availability of the LS7 heads to the aftermarket, I'm sure somebody will make a 450+cid motor that will make that much power and then some. I'm betting that with a monster bumpstick and a few boltons the new Z06's could be close.

I think it is very doable with a larger inch engine, say 440ci and some of the newer cylinder head offerings. Solid rollers are not necessary with certain hydraulic lifter available now but they need to be set up properly. But like someone said, this would not be cheap.

It's not the size that matters really but more of the proper match to the rest of the engine and exhaust. The 553 rwhp 402 LS2 that we did had a 248/250/113 Dominator grind in it. Those 0.050" number mean nothing though

god i wish other people understood that .050" valve lift values mean nothing!

4 Speed Jerico in the orange car I belive...which in terms of drivetrain loss would be tremindously better compared to an auto....many 4 speed tranmissions like Jericos G Force as well as others operate in the 98 to 99% efficency(sp?) when in 4th gear hard to belive but true

That is a very interesting point alot of people fail to realize, transmission has a lot to do with RWHP numbers. Something else to realize is the fact that the peak number is not really what matters or makes the car fast, its the average number that counts for racing. Take the engine we just built for the off road truck, it made 634HP and 610TQ and it has a VERY broad power band. If you put that engine up against say a 346 making the same peak number but less average, the little engine would get squashed by the big engine as it would accelerate much faster through the entire RPM range, assuming you could hook up the big torque
