Default 14:1 afr to lean?

Today i was on the dyno with my friends car and we only got 349hp 350TQ out of a 99 TA WS6 with patriot heads and 226/226 585 lift patriot cam. We ended the day on a run that left the car with a 14:1 afr witch i thought was kind of lean especially since i see a lot of guys with much lower afr this was threw an A4 with 3500 stall but i still think the numbers should be higher. Should adding some fule net better numbers?

Yes, I would try to get it around 12.5 - 12.8:1.

My AFR has been 14.1 for two years now with no problems. But I will soon tune it to 13.0-13.7

Factory LSX cars are set to 14.7 cruise, and 13.7 wide open throttle.

I thoght it was a lean i had him at 12.8 on the first pull and the guys at the dyno told me to lean it up. We ended up with 14 i would have brought it to maby 13 because he does have stock injectors and they do some times hit 20 ms wich has to be about maxed out. Also there equipment did start to give wavy afr at the end of the day so they could of been having some problems with there equipment. There are no exaust leakes that we know of. Thanks for the help and i will try to get the graph from my friend to post it

I'll back you up on that, because mine was a 12:1 with the only modification (if you even call that a modification) being the NGK TR-55's. It also makes sense, because wouldn't the factory want your cats to last as long as possible?

Interesting. I'm about to get an SLP lid and the SSRA2 installed so I guess I should expect mine to shoot up to 14:1 also. I just wonder where the a/f will fall to once longtube headers and y-pipe with cats are installed...
