Default 430rwhp/410rwtq - PRC 2.5 heads w/ TR cheater cam!

I finally got around to installing a pair of 1 3/4" Thunder Racing longtube headers on my daily driver tonight, along with a Mufflex 3" y-pipe. This totally woke the car up! I was previously running the stock manifolds and cats with a set of PRC 2.5 5.3l truck heads and TR's Cheater cam. That setup made 406rwhp/391rwtq about a month ago. Now, with the addition of the headers/y-pipe, the car pulled 430rwhp/410rwtq!. This is on a wore out, 133k miles stock shortblock.

Here is a complete list of engine mods:

2000 WS6 Trans Am (6-speed)

- PRC 2.5 5.3l truck heads
- TR Cheater cam (214/230 .601/.578 117lsa)
- Whisper lid
- TR ported TB
- LS6 intake
- TR 1 3/4" longtube headers
- Mufflex 3" y-pipe
- Hooker catback
- ASP pulley

I couldn't be happier with this setup. It drives and idles like stock, but is making ~130rwhp more!

I most likely will be adding a FAST 90mm intake/TB to the car around Christmas time, along with a quick rebuild of the shortblock (new rings/bearings, rod bolts). I think 445/420 might be very possible. The car is blowing white smoke out the back and using ~ 1.5 quarts every 1k miles. The cylinder leakdown wasn't pretty either! lol

I have some graphs posted Monday when I get a chance to get back to my parent's house to scan them.

Big thanks to Natalie and Shane for their help today.

Nice gains with headers. I've been interested to see the gains when running no cats and a really good y-pipe. Looks like the CheaTR is a supremely well rounded cam.

Chad: the red car has been sitting for awhile. The chassis is 100% done. Madman mini-tubbed the car, re-did most of the suspension (tq. arm, rear sway bar, etc), and finished up the 10-point cage. I just need to build a motor, finish the fuel system, and re-wire the car. It really has been on the back burner lately and will most likely stay that way until after Christmas. Here are some pics:

Patrick: Thanks! The Cheater cam seems to work quite well with both stock manifolds/cats and a free-flowing exhaust. I can't wait to see what the FAST 90/90 will do and a fresh shortblock will do.
