Default TEA Stg. 2.5 LS6 heads, custom Ed Curtis Cam 346ci 492rwhp/423rwtq!

Holy ****! These are the #s that were just put down by the heads/cam combo out of my 2001 Z28 that I sold to a fellow AZ Fbody owner for use in his car. He's running stock bottom end and bolt ons through a 12 bolt and ET Street slicks. Some of the bolt ons include an LSX 90mm, NW 90mm TB, EWP, and 85mm MAF......basically all of my old parts.

Tuned by Nic00Z28M6 of this board. Great work by TEA and EDC!!

Cam specs btw are 236/244 .6307/.6307 113 LSA 111 ICL, which were custom designed for these heads.

The heads flowed the following, and keep in mind they're about a year and a half old!

Lift Intake Exhaust
.100 72.8 58.7
.200 140.3 120.9
.300 204.8 175.5
.400 256.0 228.5
.500 294.6 263.9
.550 311.6 273.0
.600 322.5 277.8
.700 336.6

FWIW, with identical mods in my 2001 Z28 with the same heads but a G5X3 cam, the car made 450rwhp/405rwtq. He literally bought almost all my mods, but I never had the chance to install the custom EDC cam. Needless to say it seems to make a great deal more power than the G5X3 cam, not to mention it idles better.

This camshaft was built for nitrous shots up to a 200 shot, and TEA's heads have their special "nitrous exhaust ports."

Looks really good. Practically an overlay of my dyno sheets (other than the 5 rwhp spike at the end). Nice combination of parts without a doubt! Pretty soon, 500+ rwhp 346s are going to be commonplace.

Glad someone else noticed, looks like it's in the 480rwhp range and not 491. You should graph it up in engine RPM and not speed.

Almost looks to good to be true. So if the above were true, I could use those same parts but put them on a 408ci and I should gain at least 50 more HP & TQ, correct?

If so, I'm sold and Ed will be designing me a cam!

I dont understand where you are trying to get at, but how is this too good to be true ? Seems perfectly believable to me ? FULL bolt-ons, fast 90/90, EWP, bad *** cam tailored to the heads, heads that are awesome, etc. So again, tell me how this is "too good to be true" ?

Yes, the lift is really .630. It's a fairly large custom cam from Ed Curtis setup for nitrous. If he had a forged bottom end it looks like it would want to spin up to around 7200 rpm but since it's a stock bottom end with flycut pistons I set the limiter to 6900 rpm. I was thinking it would make 470 at the most but I was suprised. Don't usually see these types of numbers in AZ.

Below is the graph without the spike up top and over RPM, ignore the drop out around 4200 from the ignition pickup.

Nah, very true. A well matched heads/cam on stock cubes, and FAST 90 with a good exhaust is good for 480+rwhp.
Note, EWP on the list also.

My ol' setup did it (480rwhp) with 5.3 TEA 1.5's, TSP231/237, FAST90, QTP HVMC's and no EWP.
Yes indeed, this is the new trend of stock cube ls1 power.
Tuning and FAST 90 have kicked everything up a notch.

486/424 look to be comparable to Patrick's numbers and very possible considering the size of that cam...

I don't want to speak for Bill, but I am sure he meant these numbers are on the border of unbelievable compared to what we usually see for these mods... Even the tuner (NicD ???) voiced surprise at the results...

I just overlayed a line in MS Paint and without the spike it still made 488rwhp. Still outstanding through a 12 bolt, ET Streets, and about 10.9:1 compression on 91 octane.

I don't have access to the dyno graph at rpm vs. hp, sorry
