ANOTHER guess the hp..........sorry
I know there has been tons of these stupid questions, but it seems that all the ones I read were wheel hp and slightly different bolt ons. I am looking for crank hp.
I was told that I would be close to 500fwhp, but dont actually beleive it. Here is what I have: 2000 LS1 motor, stock bottom, stock heads, stock tb, TREX cam, springs, lifters, etc, LS6 intake, Powerbond 25% u.d. pulley, Edelbrock shorty headers, Magnaflow 9" mufflers, true duals, stock computer with a mail order tune from Wait 4 Me Performance, stock injectors, no emissions. It is mated to a th400 but looking for the approx realistic crank hp.
If I am not even close, what would be the next upgrade that would help get to my goal of 500hp? Heads? TB? I know the shorty headers hold back some, but thats all I can use in my application. How much loss is figured through the th400 tranny, 30%?? Thanks for the replies, Joey

i have the same setup except for full length headers and custom dyno tune and 520fwhp is what i got. i would go with bigger injectors and sense it is not smogable buy tuned full length headers. that would put you were you need to be but you need a dyno tune to really pull power out of the engine. oh, and the T-rex cam is going to rev forever so preparefor a fun ride.

What size injectors? I am using the Aeromotive a1000 pump and their regulator with about 56-57 psi. Sound about right? I cant fit lt headers, so I am stuck with shorties. This is in an offroad truck, not an f-body.
Thanks for the replies.

oh, well 38 or 42 injectors would work and my car with full length made 410 rwhp or 520fwhp. just flip the shorties upside down and have someone build a turbo setup and have some real fun.
