I have a 98SS bone stock I dynoed 300rwhp and 316rwtq

With the eddition of a wisper lid the same day still strapped to the dyno
It Made 307rwhp and 322rwtq

Car had 26000 miles on it and it was done At NE dyno tuning 1/14/04

On a dyno jet. Did you dyno on a mustang dyno?

The car may just need a little attention.

I find this kind of funny because 2000SLPZ28 made 269 rwhp and 296 ft/lbs of torque and
6spd99formula made 276 hp and 307 ft/lbs of torque with their stock ls1 cars
I've got a 94 lt1 car with slp intake and hooker catback and that is it and i put down 270.9 hp and 314.4 ft/lbs of torque (take a look at link at bottom of thread) but i still get flamed when i say that i have run with and beaten some ls1 stock ls1 powered cars

by no means am i accusing you guys of this i am just stating that there are some ls1 cars that dont put down that much more stock than some lt1 powered cars but a lot of people still think its impossible to beat an ls1 car with a lt1 powered car stock vs pretty much stock.

sorry guys for the little rant

My 98 did 304/321 bone stock, then 316/341 lid and cut out. An LS1 is and LS1 is an LS1.

oh definitely im not even close to saying that an lt1 equals an ls1, im just saying that when you match up an lt1 that is high on the spectrum such as mine pulling close to 271 hp and a ls1 thats low on the spectrum putting down 270-280 that its a drivers race no matter how you look at it.

i just got incredibly lucky when i bought this car it's somewhat of a factory freak and doesn't even have the notorious intake manifold oil leak (knocks on wood...) or any oil leaks for that matter the dyno was done with 70,000 miles on the clock

true i was only trapping 101 mph but that time was from my first time at the track, the air wasn't so great that day, steady 10-15mph head/crosswind most of the day and havn't been able to get back since because its closed for the winter and i went to the track in october so i havn't had time yet. While i was at the track that day there were a lot of stock or close to stock ls1 cars running and i got to talking to some of these guys and stock or close to stock ls1 cars were only running 101-102 as well

this spring when the track opens back up im hoping to do a bit better and get some updated times but for the conditions of that day my car was running comparable with all the stock ls1 cars

Isnt there a huge difference between the dynojet dynos and a mustang dyno ? That is probably where these huge discrepancies come in...

Yours is on the low side no matter what dyno you are on....

For reference 00' M6 Vette, 65k miles on it, 311/325 bone stock.

I have a question for some of the guys with autos dynoing on the low side, did the shop lock the converter during the pull? If the converter were left unlocked that's where your extra rwhp may have went. You're dynoing 20-30 rwhp under the "norm" (290-300 rwhp) and that's the range for an unlocked verter to lose.

Number two, it's nothing for KR to put you well under the 300 rwhp mark; and a lot of LS1s have unexplained knock retard (probably tuning related) bone stock. I know my old `99 was running consistant 13.2s @ 101 mph with ~3° retard, I finally got rid of the retard and droped to 12.8s @ 106 mph. It makes a BIG difference.

so your stock '99 (i'm assuming f-body since nothing was mentioned otherwise) with tuning ran a 12.8?

Judging by the thread starter's username, he appears to have an M6. No matter how you slice it, 276rwhp for a stock '99 M6 car is low, by at least 15-20rwhp, ....and there is likely something that needs to be addressed to bring the car up to full power.

i would get it dynoed somewhere else to see.

I dynoed with a lid at 296rwhp/306rwtq at cartek(everyone that day was down about 15 on hp)
Dynoed at Exotic motorsports with a cutout and went to the numbers in my sig, and their dyno was more or less more accurate than the cartek dyno for that day.

But the true dyno is the track, and i trap 108, so the latter dyno was right on.
