Mine is 10.9:1 due to a set of ls6 heads I just purchased. And my 806 heads were ported as posted. Yes, I know the cam choice is on the small size. It is what I started with and plan on trying. Yes, I can push more power out of this combo with a larger 230/240 duration cam. But, again I do have a wide gear spread and the torque will pull me through the gears. Also, I am so close to making enough power to break things.....and anymore will cost me more $$$. Until then, I will keep my fingers crossed.

Only thing is, if your dynamic compression ratio is too high with that short cam you could be down on power if you get knock-retard from it pinging. If this is the case, closing the intake valve later would make way, WAY more power.

Yes, I do understand that I will have a higher dynamic compression issue, which will result in less then perfect timing. Agreed. Again, I am going to see how it works out. Knowing a cam maybe in the near future.

Going from 384/382rwhp/tq on stock cubes ,a cam ,and ported stock heads. To a 383 ls6 stage 1 head, with a 0.9:1 raise in compression, should make for a very sweet snappy engine. Especially, when hauling a 2600lb. car with 3.27:1 rear. 1st gear takes me to 57 mph. 2nd from 57mph to around 80mph. 3rd from 80 to 110. 4th from 110 to 137mph. Wide gearing...big motor....light car.....equals......tire spinning fun. At 60mph I am turning 1400-1500 rpm. At 75mph 1800rpm.
