Default RWHP differences with a 12bolt

I did a search and didn't find anything, so I'm gonna take a chance and ask.

Has anyone seen or tested the difference in RWHP numbers between a 10 and a 12 bolt? More specifically with a Posi instead of a spool but either way is fine.

Thanks,
Jeff

Actually with same ratio (10bolt with 3.42 vs. 12bolt with 3.42) ya might see 5-10 rwhp off .

peace

i didnt lose any HP between my 10bolt and 12bolt, but i did lose ~23ft/lbs of TQ.

I wish I still had the dyno graphs.

I've heard 10-20rwhp is not uncommon when changing and upping the gear ratio.

More Friction=less power....However, there's always a however!....on a Stalled Auto you might see more power on the dyno as a result of less slip in the verter in the higher rpm's (with higher gears).

12 RWHP loss from SAE tuned car with 3.73's in 10 bolt, to 12 bolt Strange with 3.73's, direct before and after. Both me and Ed Wright loose the same with the rear end changes....
