Default dyno numbers

little surprised/disappointed on my numbers. i had my car dyno-tuned recently and she managed to put down 282 rwhp. now the TD exhaust is shitty so i plan on upgrading that and i also added a SSF3500. i was told that the TC alone robs an average of 15 rwhp.
i understand that i'm pretty much stock however i was expecting 310-315 rwhp.
now i'm not exactly a dyno fan, i believe the numbers that really count are track times and the win/loss columns however; does 282 rwhp sound about right??
my goal is to run low 12's here in el paso (4400 avg. DA).

H/C is something i am really considering now...

any and all comments appreciated!!

with the LTs on a 2001 i would have expected more, but you never know. Every car is different, could have been conditions on dyno..or many other issues during the dyno. Just look ahead, your HP will come. And like you said its not always about what the dyno says, its about the numbers that light up on the track..

That does not sound right. Do you have a graph? Also was this at tsp? Is 282 rwhp the corrected or actual hp.

i did get a print out however; i'm not sure how to post on here (excuse my ignorance) and yes this was at tsp.
how can i tell if it is corrected or not?

the 282 is coming off of the graph i was given.

well it is an auto, and usually puts down lower numbers, but doesn't mean that it is slow. how does she run?

when she was completely stock she ran a 14.1 @ 98
i went last week to a make shift track they got out here and the best i got out of her was a 14.5.
not completely disappointed because any city street is probably better prepped than that track and launching on that SSF3500 is something i need to practice. i kept spinning bad.

Don't be to discouraged. My dyno #'s are still pretty low for my mods. But I am running low 12's at the track. The TCI 3500 robs a ton of HP. I recently Dyno'd 345 to the rear wheels. That is with headers, cam, ls6 intake, ported polished TB, GMMG, and some tuning. I figure with the A-4 and converter I am losing quite a bit on the dyno, but it definately shows up at the track!!

a looser aftermarket converter will eat up more power that a stock tight converter, for example, a friend of mine made 320rwhp with most bolt ons, on the stock converter. he went t a looser fuddle 3800 2.1 STR and went to 293RWhp, but his 1/4 mile time dropped .7 tenths, so i wouldnt worry about it unless it starts to knock or something.

Old thread I know....wow 282hp stock? Wow..I am dead stock and managed 295.6hp and 293lbs on In-Force Racing's dyno in April. I only go 14.2's here at best.
Car Clubs...yup F-Body El Paso, 1320, QMH...well these are the 3 major ones in EP.

Those are some pretty low numbers. With the exact same mods you have except I had a borla mouth and under drive pulley my car put down 347 HP and 357 TQ after a Tune.

Thats where I got Dyno'd at too. I had a badly slipping tranny at the time still would not have made that much HP though.
