Default '01 camaro h/c dyno numbers

Had my first go at dyno tuning today. The numbers were put down on a mustang dyno.

uncorr. sae(.96 CF)
rwhp-420 403

rwtq-373 358

The first pull was 402/361(uncorr). Peak hp came in at 6600 and carried all the way to 7000 where it dropped like 3-4 hp. Peak torque was at about 4800. I'm pretty happy with the after tune results. The car picked up 22-25 hp in some areas between 5000-6000 rpm.

The big ticket mods are TEA stg II 5.3s(4 yr old version),232/236 cam, fast 90/90. This was also through mac mids and borla catback, and the car has a 9" with 4.57s. No short belt or EWP which are to come shortly.

I hope to get some track numbers next weekend.

I have some 1 3/4-1 7/8 headers with HVMCs, but they were for a different project that I will not be using them for anymore. I just haven't decided if I want to change them out or not.

I did not have to flycut. I have plenty of PTV clearance.

It's an m6. Previous owner ran an 11.15@124.7 in it, but that was with a ls6 intake and TR230 cam. I have ran a 7.16@98.3 1/8 w/ same set up. I'm hoping for some 10's out of it, but we'll see. Race weight is about 3400lbs.

LSA-113; ICL-113. The cam is installed straight up. I would have installed it on a 111 or 110 ICL but it was recommended to me to install it straight up due to PTV. I had > .08 PTV but I'm not sure how much that would change if I retarded the cam.

In my old SS, I ran a similar set-up. The heads were the ones in the sig, as was the cam, but the cam was on a 108 ICL, and it was a 110 LSA. The lift was .579 on both sides. My heads were milled .030", and I had to flycut. With all the mods in the sig, it did 464 rwhp and 419 rwtq. Def. throw the stepped headers on there, as well as a cutout, and your numbers will take a jump.

The lift is .579 on both sides. The duration of the cam will affect the PTV more than lift. Due to the aggressiveness of the lobes the lsa/icl was selected to increase PTV.

You must have bought that cam through TEA, because I was the one that came up with it back in Feb. 04'. It uses Comp's Renegade lobes, and yes they are pretty aggressive.

You are correct sir. Unfortunately I can't take full advantage of it since I didn't want to flycut my pistons.
