Any LS2 402 + ET Heads + FAST 90/90 dyno numbers yet?
I was just wondering. I have only seen a few LS2 402 dyno sheets, and only a few ET Performance head dyno sheets. And not many of even those used the FAST 90/90 setup. Has anyone (on any forum) put together and dyno'd a LS2 402 with ETP 225-255 heads and the FAST 90/90, and 1 7/8" primary headers yet? The closest I've seen was from SDPC, running around 620fwhp with GM performance heads.
This is pretty much the setup I'll be running once I can find time to put all my parts back together. LS2 402, 11.2:1 compression, ET 245 heads, Comp 242/250 .611/.619 114+2 LSA cam, Kooks 1 7/8" headers (probably with their high flow catted y-pipe). And I must say, not being able to work on it right now has me thinking about it more than ever.

I am waiting on the heads, I ordered them in the middle of nov. I hope to be getting them at the end of this month or first week in mar. Then everything will be going together. Perrty much the same setup as yours except a kooks ory and a bigger cam.

I seen the gto doug and bearded ws6 are the only two I know of that are running. They both have et 240s. I would like to see some results also. here is the setup I will have up and running after I get a few more things. My heads should be at lme fri. they say.
LME408
12:1
cam not known yet about the 250duration area and 630 or 650 lift
et 240s
victor jr. intake port matched to heads with 1215cfm accufab tb and 42lbs injectors
jesel rockers
kooks 1 7/8 to 2inch 3 1/2 collector open headers
I hope to have this combo together soon

BeardWS6 made 455 rwhp with an A4 unlocked on G-Force's dynojet. He has a 408 with ET 245 heads, big hydraulic cam, and FAST 90/90. He's blaming the cam for his lower than expected numbers. I believe he's making good power at the flywheel, but he's loosing it to the tires with a low efficiency torque converter...hence the lower than expected numbers. G-Force is going to install an even BIGGER cam to try to get them where they want to be.
The ET heads have performed well in the 215 sizes on smaller motors. It would make sense that the 245s would perform well on 408s. So far, we need more examples before we can say they're the top of the heap.

I'm still tuning mine. The car is running in closed loop speed density now and have all LTFT/STFT's within +/- 5 now. Tonight I'm wiring up the wideband to make the car a full time open loop speed density car. I think it's the only way I'm going to tame this cam. I went to the dyno on monday to make sure the car wasn't anywhere near lean, and it was pig rich. I leaned it out a little bit, so I have some results but am only running 15* of timing in the motor as I'm still running the rest of the 100 octane I put in during the initial start up. The results look promising but aren't where I'd like them to be, so I haven't posted any results as of yet because the car isn't tuned.

The car has a 12 bolt and 4l60e, so dyno numbers won't be as impressive as if it were an M6.
Details to follow.

i have a 421 coming together with a set of 255's, ported 90/90, big hydraulic cam, 11.5cr, m6, dual stage 90mm plate system from NitroDaves with NX lightning selonoids and propane for the fuel side of the kit.

His car did make 455 rwhp, but it peaked there at 5200 rpm's and held flat. That clearly shows that there is a restriction of some sort somewhere. There's no reason for a car with those mods to stop making power at 5200 rpm's. I don't know if the cam swap is going to help or not unless they find the restriction/problem. I think his cam is fine since it has made over 500 rwhp in other cars and is a proven cam, but if they want to swap it, then so be it. I personally don't feel to comfortable talking about it openly since he asked me to stay quiet until they found the problem, but I feel if you are going to talk about it against his will, that the obvious should be stated. If he told you you could post about it then I apologize.

I've tried to help by pointing out that it's not the head's fault, nor the cam's fault for the numbers flatlining at 5200...it's the mis-matched converter's fault. Think about it...LME and G-Force know how to spec and build a motor. They're using proven parts. Why does it die at 5200? It's the converter's fault. But since they won't listen to common sense, they'll most likely add an even larger cam that will be a bear to tune and they'll still be making lower than expected numbers. Why? Because they're chasing the wrong problem. If they could have locked the converter clutch on the dyno, they would have gotten a much better idea of where the motor made peak power, but I guess they were unable to.

Oh, come on that would be spoiling all the fun Patrick G. But seriously speaking..
I have no expectations but for the car to run hard. It's a street car first, and track car second. I set out a power goal of 500+ whp through my 3.91 gears and IRS suspension setup when I started. It feels pretty good right now, but I feel there are some areas for opportunity. I'm running the car at 12.2:1 a/f now until I finish the rest of my tune.
I don't know how much power will be free'd up by adding timing, but I'm only running 15-16* of timing from 2000rpms to redline. I don't know how much more timing I can add on a 11.84:1 compression motor. I'm a novice tuner who is just trying to put together his little project. I have no shop car here with nor do I have lots of experience on what fuel/timing maps will work best and how much is potentially left in the setup. So I'd be lying on where I realistically expect to be as far as hp is concerned.
The car does sound incredible though, here's a vid from the dyno....
