My cam was ground +2 degrees.

That definitally sounds good, Jay. I'm hoping for some warmer weather real soon and that should motivate you to finish the car

The parts from Summit will be here wednesday..... so that will complete the parts pile! I'm gonna call the shop this week to set up an appointment.. this swap is a little more then I want to do on my own on my back in my parents garage.. or in my own driveway LOL.

Shocks should be here this week too, so Ill actually hook the car this year I think... gonna go with a 28 inch tall e.t. radial I think as well, as soon as I find a skinny little raidal for the fronts to go along with it. Should hook good on the street.. for the times it's nessassary

Thanks! I definitally can't wait to get it to the track this year! I'm hoping that with some 1.8 60' times that I can get 11.7-11.8 maybe.

With what you got your car to run last year, I'd think that is more then a possibility. Like I said though.. a tq arm and a 12 bolt are probably wise investments at this point though.. you are now in the danger land man.. 10 bolts don't like that power level with stick cars.

if I don't see a 11.5 or better... hell it better be better then that, and at least a 1.60 60 foot time this year, I'm not gonna be happy. I think if the car hooks off the brake it should be running in the low 1.5's for 60 foot maybe even better then that, and with the planned weight I am gonna yank ( a/c, radio, and anything else I can find ) the car should be capable of 11.2 at around 118 to 120 on a good day. And if not.. then it's bottle time.

Thanks Chef! Definitally let us know how you do with the Edelbrock heads. I'm very curious about those.

Yeah Jay, I'm pretty worried about my rear this year. For traction mods I have a BMR adjustable torque arm, BMR rear lower control arms, and Nitto 245/50R16 drag radials. I'm hoping that with a relatively soft lauch (1.8x 60' times?) and not power shifting on the 1-2 shift, that I can make the rear last this season and put a 12-bolt in it next winter. We'll see.

I'm very curious to see how your new setup does at the track!

Sweet numbers. I was just at eastside last week, I was speaking to sean about a cam, he was thinking about 224 for me but Im pretty sure I want to go bigger. I definately want a noticible lope: devil:

What is the idle quality? I mean if someone pulled up next to you would they know there was a cam in the car? And if you were to put that cam in an auto with pretty much the same mods roughly what size stall would be needed?

cant wait for you to post a graph so I can see the torque curve

Dont mean to hijack, Thanks for the info INTENESS, From the research Ive done I can tell there is no question but to bring my car to Eastside at least thats a given. I wish everything was that easy!! Im only twenty minutes from there. Now for the I do an insane amount of reading on this site but I dont post much. Its a lot of money to spend and I dont want to be one of those people that say I wish I wouldve gone bigger with a stall or cam. Im not going to have the money to swap the stuff out if I dont like it. Thats why I was thinking of something in the mid 230's, like the tsp tourqer v2 232/234 .595/.598 on 112 or 113 lsa, but I also want the power "under the curve" I dont need to be making the power way up in the 6800 rpms. This is basically a summer only street car that may go to the track a few times just to see what shell do. And its only got 5800 miles on it so Im not looking to make it a race car, basically I want to go as big as I can without being insane. And the guy next to me to know theres a cam in the car, I will have cats so that also takes away from the lope

Im also going to have all the supporting mods to go with the cam, ported throttle body, QTP's, catted y, stall convertor, gears.

Thanks for any help you guys may be able to give

I do have the graph now. I'm giving it to my friend tonight and he will post it up. Hp peaks at about 6300-6400 rpm. 5800 rpm and up, it's over 400, 4950 rpm and up, it's over 350, and 4350 rpm and up it's over 300. Torque is over 350 from 3550 rpm all the way to 6200 rpm.
