Now let the GM guys throw on a little ATI power and lets run 'em

And then let the blue oval guys add more CI to their engine and add a kenne bell, then the GM guys can throw in a forged 408 iron block and a t-88 Turbo, etc, etc. Its a never ending cycle once you start talking about mods...sure the LS1 would make awesome power with an ATI but so would a cobra with a forged 5.7 liter engine as opposed to a 4.6.

my buddy had an 04 cobra for awhile and he put a bigger pulley on the s/c, stedda exhaust and a few other things, nothing like a tune or anything and just like a fuel pump or something, anyway he dynod it, and i saw the dyno sheet, and he was at 456rwhp!!!!! Im an f-body guy to the bones but that was a bad mother!!!! i drove it a couple of times and was in the car when he killed a c5 zo6 from a 70mph roll!!! the only car that beat him was a highly modded and gutted evo7 from a dead stop!!!! those cars are very easy to beast out, basically stock they come as very restricted and like my buddy said, all he had to do was un restrict the car!!!

the only cobras that come off like dyno queens have guys that can't drive them.

put a small stalled automatic and solid rear axle in a "dyno queen" cobra and wave bye bye, because it will eat your lunch from start to finish, hands down.

it's VERY hard to get 500+rwhp out of an n/a ls1, let alone have it last very long. those cobra bottom ends will last forever @ "only" 500 rwhp...all they need to shine is a stalled auto and solid axle...and SLICKS!

Ignorance...

I've owned 4 ls1's and love 'em. BUT, until you own a s/c cobra, you will never fully understand.

Let me throw on a procharger in STOCK form and you throw on a procharger, I guarantee I will hand you your ***.

I never get tired of hearing all this. Its so funny to see f-body guys and Cobra guys get into it. But some of you F-body guys are forgetting, we paid 10k less for our used N/A Mullet cars. Just giving you something else to fuel the fire.

Now, I have driven and raced Cobras. Have friends that own them. They run good from a roll, some do on the track. I will never have one because they just don't do it for me. They have strong hand built engines that take alot of power. But damn, Mustang guys will never change. Some F-body people are making us look bad too. These are two differant cars with two differant reasons for being built.

And for the record, almost anything with a Kenne Belle can be unreal.

Let's just say that I trap more in the 1/8th than you do in the 1/4.

10 grand for an LS1, I could have bought a pinto and for 10 grand been in the 8's

Back to the original, as already answered, it's completely believeable.

BTW, I ran a 12.6@113 bonestock (including filter and tires). If I had the money, my car would have a stalled auto+build rear in it, but for now, I will just continue breaking parts

I already have the built solid axle. I thought about going with an automatic,
but I just don't have the heart. It would be a racecar at that point. Might
as well install a cage too. An auto will take a high 10 second Cobra and
make it a low 10 second Cobra.

I have most of the parts to do the swap in my garage. The only missing parts are the expensive ones...the manual valve body and the convertor That's ***** MONEY! And I am also worried about the "fun" level going down a little. I'm thinking about the cage though...

Comparing the Cobra with the F-Bodies is apples and oranges. The Mach 1 is more in our range. I like my WS6 but the Cobra is best left to compete with Z06s. A solid axle cobra is a nightmare, when ever I pull up to an 03/04 Cobra my savior is wheel spin and maybe letting him snap a drive shaft off the line. F' racin them from a roll.

Wow...that's odd. Must've had clogged cats or something. That was an
issue on some cars. Mine put down 386rwhp stock.

I doubt there was a problem seeing his CAI & catback #'s are right with the rest of the 03/04 cobra guys around.

Talking about your trap doesnt help your case when argueing it isnt a dyno/roll racing queen.

+1. And for that matter, ANYTHING with 19 psi of boost and a shot of spray had better run really damn good, much less have a 10 second timeslip. Good lord, how many guys on this forum have 1 power adder cars in the 9's or faster? A Cobra with 2 and the mod motor running 10's is quick, but not very impressive. There is alot of cars with alot less power kicking your ***. You can talk about weight, displacement, roll racing, blah blah blah, either way, its happening on the track.

So why not just tell us what your car is running in the 1/4? I would be willing to bet you running at least a 10.20 with you trapping over 105 in the 1/8th statement.
