how much horsepower do headers really give you?

Ok people say 35 to 40?? And the guy at the shop said only about 20 or 25? So how much does it really give you?? And one more question.on my door it says I have 345 HP? Is that to the wheels or motoR? He dynoed it and he said I only have 305 some help?

I gained 31.7 rwhp with the Hooker LT/ORY and Flowmaster 80 Series Muffler. As far as the 345hp rating, that would be at the motor.

People thought the '98s were weak. A friend of mine had a 1998 SS and put down 312 rwhp bone stock.

Oh ok I guess its different one of u gained 31 and another 25 ill see how much I gain ill know by saturday plus I'm getting tuned so I'm guessin it shud at a bit more right?

On a stock/bolt-on motor, LT's 15-20 HP, ORY 5-10 HP.

i never baselined my car but im assuming i picked up about 30-35. my car dynoed at 342hp 354tq after the header and true dual install... and a tune.

my car made 310 rwhp before the headers, then 340 with headers and tune.

I gained about 30 RWHP. My car dyno' d 354 RWHP, with the converter locked, and a tune. I gained 20 over MACs and a dyno tune.

I gained about 30 here as well, I would say 25-30 is reasonable guess

I gained 22 rwhp with Kooks headers and catted y-pipe over stock manifolds and cats. This was when I was running AFR heads and Thunder Racing CheaTR cam. Both were tuned.
