Bad bitch, I have some very similar number I need to post using the 215 ET heads and a 232/236 cam.
Little bit more power then you a little less torque.
I will post some more info in the next couple days.
Here's a little teaser.
Picked up 60 RWHP going ET 215's and fast 90/90 over the before combo with LS1 ported heads and a fast 78/78 combo.
Same cam, same everything else.

your cam seems odd, also I noticed you have 640 lift on the intake? unless your springs have been changed you might be binding the factory springs, I think they are good for 620 max... did you put the dowel pins in the rails also?

Post up the results!

After I get the valve spring issue taken care of it will probably make low to mid 460's. Remember, this is going through a C5 drivetrain which is less efficient then f-bodys. I still have some supporting mods that can put me in the 470 range!

I'm using comp 977 dual springs good to .650 lift. You really need to see the cam doctor sheet to understand how this cam makes sense.

It's more an experiment than anything. This thread is making me think of getting ETP's now, and it's also making me want to go back and shim those springs...

What valve instability do you speak of? Float? Are you running stock rockers?

What .650 springs are you running? installed height? open lb? seat lb?

I wonder if the valves are 'heavy'?

hrmmm... only reason I so curious is that I am getting some 215s here shortly w/ .650 springs and I would like to nip that problem before I have it.

Yes I'm talking about valve float and I reused the stock rockers. I using comp 977 springs that ETP installed on the heads. I was told I might have to shim the springs when using a cam with high lift like mine. This cam should pull to 6800 rpm easily but you can see it doesn't. That problem will be gone once I shim the springs.

977's? That's probably why. If you use Comps, you should get 921's.

Thunder told me the same thing. Maybe they should tell ETP to stop using 977s as an upgrade and use 921s instead. I have to decide on shiming my current springs or replacing them with Comp 921s.

In their day Comp 977s were considered pretty killer. I'd try shimming them first. They'll last longer that way anyway (because you'll eliminate spring surge).

What's the max lift rating on the 977's? I know mine can handle more, but I might go back and shim them now... I'm paranoid.

What spring do you have in your heads?
I think my ET heads are having issues with valve control also.
I have stock lifter with the 977 spring upgrade.
I maybe changing to Morel and PSI spring upgrade.
There is a lot more weight with the longer valves and pushrods.
