I have the new AFR duel springs on my AFR 225's and was planning on going with the .040 head gasket ,, am i going to have issues running a 650+ lift
with those springs and stock lifters ?

Those are some of the best springs out there. The stock lifters may take offense at such an aggressive lobe. So, I'd look into some Morels. Sure they cost a fortune (buy the Lunati branded Morels for $130 less to save some cash), but you can have them rebuilt down the road for a nominal fee.

I don't think you should overlook the XE-R lobe. It's still a really fantastic lobe that will be a bit more aggressive off the seat than the LSK or XFI and aren't so much smaller in the 240s at .200" to make a huge difference.

You could go with a Comp XE-R 244/248 .612"/.615" 113+3. It'd work very well with an 11.8:1 SCR.

Lobe numbers are: 3732/3734.

I think your current cam is too big for your stall, also. A 4000 stall is more appropriate with a 248 intake duration in a 408, IMO.

I take it the pistons have a 12cc dish and not dome correct? Your comp should be in the 11.2-11.4 range if you are using a 12cc dish. (depending on gasket)

I would play with timing and AF in the mid range some more.
