Im not very impressed with the shape of your torque curve. Between 2000-5000, there is so much more power to be had. Now, in a 'Vette it probably wouldn't be 'as' needed as say with a streetable car with a converter for example.

I'm not here bashing... My dad has a vette we'll be camming sooner or later so, I think it's interesting and thank you for posting your results. We'll be taking another approach however in hopes to fatten up TQ between 3000-5000. The way we see it, if you can make the same amount of torque at 3000-RPM as another cammed up car that makes this amount of torque at 4000-RPM, we've created a much more street-able car and probably a 'quicker' one at that.

We're looking at 350-TQ @ 3000-RPM and at least 400-TQ by 4500-RPM... More preferably 4000-RPM. Anyways, I'm done bull shitting.
Keep us updated on any track results.

The reason the tq dropped in those two places is the car got real rich right there. My a/f went down to 11.6 in those two spots. I didn't have time to make any tweaks, I just did two real quick pulls back to back and had to go. I tuned the whole car on the street so I knew on the dyno the a/f might be a little off.

You must drive like an old woman. My z06 likes to operate between 4,000 and 6,000 rpms. You guys that cannot downshift make me wonder...get a roots blower and you won't ever have to shift.

Chuck,

Do you even know what you are talking about?

Here is what I said:
We'll be taking another approach however in hopes to fatten up TQ between 3000-5000

Driving like an old woman would be between 3000-5000 RPM??? Not likely.
I didn't say optimize power between IDLE and 2000.

Miny, I hope Chuck's response isn't making my response appear to say that your cam swap was pointless... Because this was definetly not my meaning. However, more TQ from 3000-5000 would and will get my Dad's Z off the line quicker at the track, while also being more fun on the street with the snappy response in this range at partial throttle.

I didn't take it that way. I was just showing that I didnt loose any low end compared to stock. Im sure how you race or drive but this cam is great for drving on the street for me. I havent had a chance to try it on the track and launch because of my slave cyclinder and clutch. On the street the car comes alive at 3,000rpm and really screams from 4,000rpm on up. 1st and 2nd gear go by like nothing. On everything I have raced I have always launched anywhere from 3,000-6,000rpm depending on traction. This setup being no differnt. You will always lose one to gain one, so if your looking for more low end then you will start loosing tq and hp on the big end. You just have to try to find a happy medium for setup.
Good luck
