That would be my other guess...that's a lot of timing he's running, especially now that it's getting toasty outside.

Oh, and BTW, thanks for taking the time (and the money ) to provide us with this info. Very valuable for everyone in this community. I've learned a metric **** ton of info (although I still don't know much) just from your threads on here.

Again, excellent post. Nice numbers Patrick, looks like you picked up that midrange that you were looking for

I saw something VERY similar almost exactly like that on MTIs dyno. Jayson told me it was valvetrain instability, but now I have to wonder....My car showed zero knock retard, so it wasnt timing related. Im going to try a little longer pushrod on mine just for grins, BUT Id like to see this issue show up on two DIFFERENT dynos also.

Id say thats very interesting! Your cam makes excellent torque on a 114. Seems to carry up high well also.

Not to be negative but I think the different dyno has a lot to do with it.
I would bet the same dyno and same day your car would make a considerable less amount of power and torque.

Ill be the first to refute that statement.... Theroy and reality can have significant differences. This dyno graph shows evidence of valvetrain instability above 6500 rpms, meaning the 921s may not be enough spring for this LSK lobe. So there definitely IS COMPROMISES....

I put my LSK 223/227 111+0 in today. Dyno results next week. Previous cam was a lsk223 intake xer228 exhaust 116+3. No other changes to the V except the cam. Old cam dynoed 442 rwhp and 397 and 399 rwt, same dyno, 2 week separation form the runs.

I like it

I LOVE that midrange torque better than peak power

Great #'s!!!

At the top of the RPM band, are you breaking up due to lack of fuel or are you floating the valves? Graph is very spikey... It is a whole lot of lift after all, not sure which springs whould live up to that on a constant basis.

Good Luck!

What springs are you using for such a high lift on the new TR cam?

could lessening the lift help deal with the valvetrain instability at 6,500+? ...if indeed that is why the graph got all wacky.

I'm using the AFR #8019 spring. They're a little beefier than Comp 921s. About 158 lbs. on the seat and 440 over the nose. Because I'm running heavy 2.08 intake valves, I need a beefier spring than most. My AFR 205s with the lighter 2.02 valves were happy reving to 7000 with the Comp 921 springs (shimmed to within .050" of coil bind of course).
