The LS7 head from GM is probablly similar in performance to the 265 ET head, but the thing is, is that it is limited to the LS7 intake. The 265's with a sheet metal intake will flow more together than the LS7 combo together. If you paired the LS7 with a sheetmetal, it might be diffrent. From the looks of the project, it looks as if they were going for the higher RPM/drag set-up, in which case, the 265's carry well past the LS7 head. The 265's also have smaller valves than the LS7's. 2.125" vs. 2.200". In this case, the 265 offers more high lift flow, it peaks higher than the LS7, and the valvetrain is lighter. It sounds like the better choice for this combo.

Cary, which rocker arms will we be able to run with your 4" bore LS7 heads?

Mikey, do you think that 650ish is possible out of a pump gas version of this motor? Sheetmetal intake and everything else?

Maybe with some more cubes. I have a 449 CI LS7 going together as soon as I get my ET LS7 heads so we'll see where that one goes.

You can use stock LS7 rockers or Jesel offers a kit just for our LS7 4" and big bore combo.

So no chance of running the new Crane shaft mount rocker system with these LS7 heads?

500rwtq by 4000 RPM, 500rwhp by 5000rpm, and it seems to get better from there!

Larry went to the track yesterday and made a few shake down passes with the new Rossler TH-400. Best was 9.59 @ 141. He said he is hitting the limiter about 200' before the trap so there's a bit more there. I have to bump his limiter up a bit or we may need to step down in gear.

What was an approx. race weight? Sounds like a setup that could scare 8's in the end when all is setup right. I would love to see a vid. of one of the runs when it gets in order.

No video fellas. I wasn't there. It was a private track rental and they spent alot of the day dialing in the suspension. There's a post in the drag racing section that gives a little more detail on the car.

He didn't dyno after the trans swap so I don't know what the difference would be but it would be lower for sure.
