tsp ls6 heads/228/230 cam mustang dyno
Well I have some good news and some bad news.
first the bad news. I made a post a while back about a ticking noise...turns out it is a lifter bleeding down on the drivers side...so I am going to have to replace that.
Ill have the graph up in a few hours. And possibly a video.
Numbers are 417 rwhp and 423 ft lbs of torque. Looks like the dcr at 8.6 is well worth it!!!
They just did an afr and fast 90/90 car on their dryno a little while ago and it only did 401 rwhp
Also had the car weighed....its was 3297 w/out a driver.
A little preview of the graph....It made 370 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheels at 2560 rpm It made 390 ft lbs of torque at the wheels at 2920 rpm and it hit 400 torque by 3400 rpm.
I have to say...the tsp ls6 heads with competition valve job are some great heads.
Ill have some dyno jet results up in the next few weeks as well. Considering most cars dont break 400 on this dyno...I cant wait to see what happens...especially with the torque!!!

Sorry to hear about the lifter, but nice numbers. Are you running the LS6 intake? Did you mill the heads? Do you know what your compression ratio is?
I'm looking at the same heads. Sounds like a great setup.

That's some mighty impressive numbers. If that Mustang Dyno is true then that would be nearer 446rwhp on a Dynojet
Are those numbers SAE corrected?
This has def decided it for me, as soon as I've finished rebuilding my Discovery I'm getting me some PRC LS6 heads and a MS4

Heads are unmilled. 64 cc heads, .040 cometic gaskets. This put my dcr at about 8.6 and scr at about 11.1.
Got some news on the afr headed car...it was an a4 and they were dynoed back to back. BUT....this car had a fast 90/90 on it. So I believe that these heads are great if properly set-up.
I dont know wether to believe it or not but when I did some searching about epp dyno results...someone put down 380 rwhp on their mustang dyno and 436 on a dyno jet.
Ill be going to a dyno jet across town real soon to see what the results are.
What I still cant get over is the torque...I was hoping for about 400-410 at the wheels on a dyno jet...but 423 on a mustang dyno....I couldnt be happier.
Im not sure on the correction.
I am trying to post up the vid and the graph right now.
By the way...EPP is a great business...I would recommend them to anyone. thanks again
And TSP....I think the results speak for themselves...but thanks
Brent gave me a FREE set of comp 850-16 lifters that had 20k miles on them.

The Dyno Video

I also realized that the torque was 423.8 and power was 417.6...I have to round them up to 418 and 424 for the sig

I have no other dyno numbers. The car has always felt very strong...but then again the fact that it weighs 3297lbs probably helps as well. I might remove my entire ac system since it isnt working anyway and also remove my monsoon amp...I could be looking at another 100 lbs off the car right their.
Should run good at the track
Torque and horsepower should be very close to each other if the motor has been set up properly with a cam the size of mine. When you go bigger the spread can get wider.
The reason many people see such a large spread is because they are not setting up their dcr @ around ~8.5. they put in a huge cam that bleeds of the dynamic compression and throw on a set of good heads and they get around ~440 rwhp and 390-400 torque.
This is my understanding.

thanks for all the compliments guys
I also like how it doesnt peek too high...thats why I got the cam on a 112 + 4...I didnt feel too comfortable spinning a stock 98 ls1 bottom end very high.
Where should I set my raptor shift light?
I was thinking of setting the light at 6200...so Id be shifting around 6300. The rev limiter is set at 6500.

Awesome results!
I'm doing a setup very similar to yours soon, but my cam will be a 228/230 XER on a 110 +2.. 11.2:1 SCR and 8.7:1 DCR. It should be interesting.
Thanks for sharing!

I made 435rwhp/400rwtq on MTIs dynojet through the Ls6 intake with the TSP PRC LS6 heads on stock compression, stock valvesize, and a similar 228/228 XER lobed cam on a 114 + 4.... I recently added a Fast 90/90 and expect to be at 450rwhp/410rwtq + the next time I hit the dyno. The TSP heads ROCK!!! Mine didnt even have the competition valvejob!
