Those are coming very soon. With this dual disc clutch, my stock 10 bolt may not survive too many hard launches, so I will have to look more at trap speeds than ET to see the power gains.
Im just curious cuz your car has similar weight and gears as mine. If you want to be quick nothing beats the slushbox.

First off, they're going to be quite a bit longer than the QTP header and secondly, they are supposed to have a really cool dual catback with x-pipe that is similar to the Vette system. I would expect them to be at least as good as the QTPs at peak hp and probably 5-10 better in peak torque. Rumors point to August or September of this year, but you never know...

Patrick, What do you think about the new Edelbrock headers. Wouldn't they make more torgue? Although not stainless, the quality of these headers is verygood.

NICE header....

I think the "LG style" would still be better on a stock displacement F-Body (if its got the same extra long 1.75" primary pipes and 3" merge collecter as the current C5 design), but that Edelbrock header would crank on a 402 or larger stroker....good TQ and big power running some displacement in front of that design. I wish there was something like that for my C5's future endeavors....I think it would be just what the doctor ordered for my upcoming 415 project. I'm fairly certain my current exhaust system (which may even by choking my current 383 somewhat) will pose a far greater restriction on the larger, higher output 415, especially past 6500 RPM's. It will certainly help make MOUNDS of low and midrange TQ, but fall off quickly past peak HP. Might have to try what I have and go from there...

Thanks for posting the link....wasn't even aware that option existed for the F-Body guys but I wouldn't exactly call it a "bolt in" by any means either....looks like fabricating skills and tools are a must!

Vette Doctors has the 1-7/8" Merge Style headers for the Vette from American Racing Headers.

Those Edelbrock headers are sweet, plus if you buy it without the collector welded on, you can configure it with the collector extension to meet your specific needs. And at the price it goes for, it's a good bargain. The Ti-Tech finish is supposedly pretty good as well.

they should be the same material as all their other headers. I just got a reply from them and they said their header will be ready in one month!

Geez, talk about power under the curve. My goodness Pat, those are some very impressive torque numbers, especially when you consider the displacement your working with. Good thing you live where you do, as I'd never want to pull up next to that thing at a stop light...

350 lbft. of torque at ~2900rpms is VERY very impressive, especially out of a 346. Awesome job, Pat. Can't wait to see what's next.

Agreed. Also, I feel that many people view those numbers, and don't see what is really going on. I mean, from 2400 through 7000-RPM, rear wheel torque remains well over 300 foot pounds, peaking at 429 @ 4800-RPM. That is simply incredible. Are you sure your not running a big block underneath the hood, Pat?

7.400" pushrods to accomodate the shaved heads and the smaller base circle of the cam. I'll make a note to add that to the website. Thanks!

Are you using stock 1.7 rockers?
To gain lift, cam manufacturers will make the diameter (base circle) of the cam smaller in order to allow the higher lift lobes to still fit inside the cam journals.

For instance, the stock base circle is 1.553" (or .7765" radius). The stock lift is around .500".

To run a .650" lift cam, you'll need for the diameter of the backside of the cam to be smaller. This means a smaller base circle. The BS for an LSK lobed cam is 1.395" or .6975" radius. When you have a smaller base circle, typically, you will need longer pushrods to maintain stock lifter plunger depth. But because my heads are milled, I get most of the reduction in base circle back. Therefore, I can run a stock length 7.400" pushrod.

Yes, I'm using bone stock 55k mile rockers and lifters.
