Default Low '02 Z06 Dyno Numbers

Dyno numbers on my '02 EB Z06 are quite disappointing.
All pulls were done on a Dynojet 224x

May 5th, 2006
Mods: Blackwing Filter

Temps in the mid 90s
Best Pull: 327hp, 313tq

Mods: Blackwing Filter, TPIS Longtubes, Corsa X-pipe, NX Wet Kit, TR6 Plugs (gapped at .040")

Temps around 100F
Green: 330hp, 323tq (no spray)
Blue: 427hp, 453tq (100 shot, 52N/26F pills)
Red: 465hp, 500tq (150 shot, 62N/31F pills)

I've heard that these cars run very rich stock, but this rich is normal? AFRs were measured at the exhaust tip.

Only a gain of 3hp and 10tq from the longtubes and Xpipe?

Not sure what is with the hiccup between 3100-3500rpm. But the fluke on the green line was the wideband falling out of the exhaust.

Any thoughts?

I purchased the car used and it already had a blackwing filter. Not sure if anything else was done to it, then removed. As far as I know, it doesn't seemed like it was ever tuned.

I, also, have heard that most 02+ Z06 put down around 345-360 stock.

Oh, and I have no cats.

those are STD #s also (which will make them read even higher....) did the operator watch timing during the pull (was knock retard present?) what were the IATs- that can pull timing and enrich the mixture as well... the #'s are definately low

you should get a tune, that would be your best next step, but i would decifer what is wrong with the car before anything else. Same dyno??? I would maybe try another dyno facility and make sure they monitor IAT, knock retard, and total timing during the pull as well as AFR

edit: the first dyno pull is uncorrected (which could be high- low depending on elevation and temp...) and second is STD. Your dyno operator needs to give you SAE #s before you do anything else, so we can see what the actual gains are. If it was 90 degrees and uncorrected #'s, it is very possible it did 320 stock (uncorrected) If it is the same dyno/ same operator, tell him to start looking for a new job.

The only thing that was monitored was the AFR. Yes, both sheets were the same dyno, but two different operators.

My next step will definitely be a tune at a different shop (this one specializes in imports). I'll have them monitor what you listed.

I'm in Florida which is about sea level and the first dyno the temp was in the 90s. What does uncorrected #s mean? Or should I ask what do they need to be corrected for?

Thanks for the advice!

Needs a tune in a very bad way.Looks like it has the 02 Vette syndrome.Probly no timing with the very rich A/F.

Can't believe you'd actually spray it with the motor that bad to start with

If you put on headers, and are running O/R pipes, you definately need to have a tune done. You definately want to see where the timing is at also if you are shooting 150 on the car.

24% Humidity in Florida??? Looks like a bad tune combined with a bad correction factor.

My '03 Z went 352/351 stock with an 11.5:1 A/F ratio from the factory. While my car is ritch, yours is pig ritch. My car also ran about 26 degrees of timing up top from the factory. You may try putting the stock air box back on until you can have the car properly tuned. I have heard of these cars getting thrown a little out of whack sometimes with an intake added (computer sees a lean condition and dumps fuel).

I dont realy see any knock retard on the dyno graph (no sudden dips), but you will want to monitor O2 readings, Knock Retard, and timing for starters with your next dyno.

What was up with the A/F reading in the second graph (N/A pull in green)?
