I'd get it tuned right away! Without a tune there is the potential to hurt the engine. Bob

So what were the numbers? My 382LS1 set-up did 408whp and 414wtq on a mustang dyno yesterday.

Patriot 5.3 stage 2 heads
11.3 to 1 CR
Headers/ TSP true duals
231/231-578/578 112lsa cam(cam to small to be a dyno queen)

I put down to the rear tires 395hp and 396tq. I think if i change my cam alittle bit bigger ill get more power because my cam is a .580 lift with a 110 lobe and it stops pulling way before the 6,000. Any advice, i would like a big choppy cam that pulls to about 6,300 or 6,400.

the new torquer maybe its a higher lift and i believe operates to that range..

edit- actually, it sounds like a custom cam should be looked at.

those are prett poor dyno numbers for a 383. I'm guessing your compression is pretty low with 317 heads also. you should be making at least 450/450 even with the hp peaking that low.

my car made 480rwhp with a similar lift cam on a 109 and ported LS1 heads at 11:1...you got big problems...get what you have fixed before dumping more money in and it not working.

Guys here are good and want to help..list all the mods in detail..
