I need some help with English class I am undertaking an argumentative essay with my topic being Ford vs Chevy in the area of (stock) engine performance. I figure the best way to prove any side is with good hard numbers. So, if anyone could post up links to, or pictures of baseline dyno runs, it would be greatly appreciated!!
I was thinking of focusing primarily on the LT1, LS1-7, and possibly the LO8 for Chevy, and the 4.6/5.0/5.4 for Ford. Don't worry, there will be plenty included regarding Ford's use of forced induction to compete with Chevy.
Also, if any of you have suggestions or insights, it would be greatly appreciated. Looking back on my decision, it seems I have undertook a rather daunting task, especially considering I have to explain this to a late 20's red head teacher that acts blonde.

In addition to power figures from the engines, you might want to include the weight of the motors. Sort of a power to weight ratio figure. Those over head cam motors are monstrous in size and weight.
I just want to throw one thing out there. Being that you probably have a good amount of knowledge about engines in general, it's going to be very easy for you to start getting into information that to a laymen is very technical. Keep it simple.
Point in case is that I tried to do something like this. Had a friend read it and he understood perfectly what was going on, my teacher however got totally lost and that caused me not to fare so well.

Yeah, in dealing with a layman .. allowing them to relate to the topic by "association" (analogies), I would think would be your best bet in getting them to understand. Delivery is as important as content in this case.
I would look towards fuel management for some bullets.
