Default AFR Heads/cam combo re-tuned....RESULTS INSIDE!

So the place that I always had my car dyno'd and tuned got back up and running with a new owner, but this is the same tuner. Instead of working for another guy, he now tunes the cars AND owns the business.

I have been needing to get the a/f checked out for the small dry hit that I have for occasions so I scheduled a session this past weekend.

On the other dyno it made a best of 445hp and 398tq after tuning. That was with an ORY and open cutout. I have since swapped over to TSP Tru-Duals and single chamber Flowmasters. That has been the only change. Fast forward to this past weekend......

I pulled it onto the rollers and made the first pull on motor. It was lower than the dyno made at the other shop. FWIW, the HPH uses the smoothing on 5, where the Performance Garage had it on 3. At any rate there was a bigger difference in the numbers than what the smoothing would affect.

So Jesse started tweaking the motor tune and the results are below, first pull, then the way I left there. My GF didn't understand why I was happy with the numbers. I had to explain to her that diff dynos read diff, and that you just use it to tune, and that the actual gain is what matters.

So smoothing affects the way the dyno reads?

Thanks guys. They fit awesome! You just have to think it out when you do it. I added about 12-16" of pipe to the TSP system to locate the mufflers where they needed to be for the best clearance.

Where did you put the mufflers? did you run it all the way back or is it dumped? how do you like the sound of them?

Sorry for all the questions, i had duals before but they were too low so i removed them but i want them back, hardest part is picking out the mufflers to make the LT1 Rumble.

Yes. The lower the smoothing number the more "spikes" so to say and it shows a higher reading, sometimes more than others.

Before the axles, no tips, no turndowns. Here is a clip:http://video.ls1tech.com/video/403c9...4b008bd3b2.htm

Yeah I spun the launch but I just love the rest of the vid.

I ran 11.78@121.5 that nite on a weak 1.889 60ft. That was shiftn the car too low for where it peaks, (IMO anyway) before this retune, and on SLICK Nittos. I will be going back this sat with new tires, shift-lite set higher, and the new tune. I am hoping for some 11.5s and 123 mph traps or so.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys.
