PCV problems = Low dyno numbers?

Default PCV problems = Low dyno numbers?

Would a PCV problem cause a car to loose power? like say 50 rwhp? My car is burning oil and smoking out the exhaust and I've narrowed it down to rings not seated, bad valve seals and or guides, problem with PCV system. I guess Im gonna just delete the PCV system and see if it stops smoking.

try putting a catch can on there, but you have bigger problems than that. It sounds like the rings are fried.

It could be your rings if you took it easy for the first 500 miles. My 408 on the dyno yesterday pushed alot of oil into my holding tank but the car had no miles on it. So I am sure if your pvc system goes to your intake you are burning tons of oil. I would change your pvc setup and then run the **** out of it or rent a dyno for a couple of hours and tear it up.

if your tring to seat rings its best to get on the highway and bring the car up to 4500 and let it run agianst itself to 2500 a few times. this will creat a vacuum in the cylinders that help seating rings. all new motors should have this done.

what make s a PVC system not work properly? Does this happen to cars with heads and a big cam?
