Default Rear turbo on completely stock ls1

I am possibly going to get a completely stock 02 ws6 and am thinking about putting a rear turbo. ststurbo.com says they got over 500rwhp on 8psi. Can this be done on pump gas and with no other mods? Has anyone else seen this?

ummm i made just over 400 on 5psi with 8psi and tuning its possible but i dont think just bolting it on and upping the boost like STS says will work.
i put my dyno up here somewhere chekc my posts to find it. you can see where it started to drop off ----- tunig maybe fuel system.......

Dont waste ur money, it could be acheivable but I think its not worth the$$ money and there r many H/C guys these days r close to the numbers that u want. If this a fun car go for it. if u want respectable turbocharged numbers, just do it right.

good luck.

I dont think you will get 500rwhp...but the 450 lb ft of torque will outperform the heads/cam bigtime. Here is a tip...dont upgrade turbos...stay with the stock one...unless you have H/C you wont be able to use a bigger turbo.

After doing the stroker in my ws6 last time...i would do a turbo next time...

Stock car with STS is ussually 390-420rwhp.Add an intercooler or Meth with boost at 10lbs and it will hit 500rwhp.

I have a friend who has one and on high boost (8psi) with meth kit put down 508, I think he has seized his tubo now though because the oil pump quit.

so what exactly is a meth kit? Is it something you have to refill all the time?

It is something you have to refill, it is to cool the intake charge, for my money I would go intercooler route and not worry about meth or ETOH injection. I would stop adding boost at the point that you overcome your intercooler and need meth/ETOH to prevent detonation. If you are going to do that you might as well do Nitrous and you can dial that up as much as you want too.

David Dunn..."Smoke20" has just put an intercooler on his car and his intake temps dropped 100*, he is working on getting a tune and I will let you know what he puts down after. He is running really lean right now and won't drive it until he gets a tune

Yeah get an intercooler definately...but im not a fan of meth at all. With intercooler, TR6 or TR6ix plugs, a good tune and 93 octane you shouldnt need a meth kit for 8psi.
