Default Torquer V3 Dyno Numbers...Graph Inside

Took the car in to start my tune. This is from round 1. I am currently logging before I head back after Thanksgiving. This is cam and exhaust as the major mods. All mods are listed in the sig. LS1 intake and no underdrive pulley, so yes I still have some bolt-ons to do. I am open to and want your constructive feedback.

That's good for your lack of intake. That will give you a lot of power now that you already have a cam, and it doesn't cost a lot of money.

Hey...thanks guys. I may be able to squeeze an intake out of the wifeage...... of course is may cost me a new bedroom set....

This was with a conservative tune. We tuned through the MAF and on the first pull it went too lean. This was after 3 hours of work. It looked like someone has played with the tune before. The fuel and spark tables where aggressive. The guy I bought the car from (2 years ago) told me that it has never had any major mods. Yet it has a Harlen shift light, SLP fan switch, and a toggle switch under the dash.... oh... and a couple of holes drilled in the spare tire well like a nitrous bottle used to be there. He denied running the bottle.....not that I care.... I still would have bought the car. He said the switch was for a purple light in a shift **** he had on the car.

......SO we fattened it up and decided to do alot more logging. Keep in mind I am new to the tuning world so if you have any feedback on that I am open.

Its suprising how much the little bolt ons help. Get the intake and a ported tb and a pulley and you should see over 400hp. With a tr224 cam and bolt ons i did 397hp when it was an m6. You have a lot more power hidding. Good luck. Oh yea how are the street manners? Are you getting surging or having the car stall out on you. Im thinking of buying that cam also.

Sprayed,

Thanks for the feedback and I agree 100%.

Street manners on the stock tune are bearable. I got some surge in the low RPM's and on the street it would bog to around 400 rpm's, but it never stalled.

After the tune it runs 100 times better, although I believe I still have more work to do.

I'm quickly putting my Flame Suit on.......

Its dot to dot. I did not have a degree wheel at the time I did the install, but I have the COMP kit now. I am really considering going back in and degreeing it:

1. So that I know things are right, and....

2. For the experience.

Brain (at TSP) mentioned to me that I would be OK with stock heads going dot to dot.

To everyone.. thanks for the great feedback. I appreciate it.

As for the intake, I have a friend who has offered to sell me his LS6 at a good price if I help him swap from a MS3 to a T-Rex. Thats another reason why I want to go in and degree my cam... so we can do his the correct way.

honestly Looking at the graph the car wants more air bad. I think you should have a 90/90. You have an aggressive cam it doesn't make sense that you would use something that is put on a stock car. It's still going to starve for air. I wouldn't waste anymore time tuning it. Until you get supporting mods. After you'll be much happier and it will go like a rapped ape. I think those Texas Speed Cams are going to unlock the LS1 motors.

i cant see the justification of running a 90mm intake/throttle body with stock 853 casting heads, maybe a set of PRC stage 1 LS6 heads before going with a fast intake.

You could use this argument too: I cant see running any cam on stock heads Other than the stock one.

Both are in the mix, just not right this minute and not at the same time.

The current question is which first.... heads or intake. I have heads I am interested in, I only need to inquire as to how they will match the T3.

I am not worried about tuning as I already have EFIlive and an LM1. I am really kicking around buying a Moate's RoadRunner before anything else. That may come before the end of the year.

Back to the heads/intake... Let me know what you guys think about a FAST/NW 90/90 and the PRC 5.3 Stage 2.5 heads with this cam. I plan on calling Texas Speed, as well.

Thanks again for the feedback and opinions.

i see what you are saying, my point is that 90/90 intake setups offer very very small gains when used with stock heads. a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and if that weakest link is your heads, then a intake isnt gonna help because the heads are the restriction as opposed to the intake.

but then again anything is better then the LS1 intake
