Default 402 LS2 in Z06 finally finished

Finally have finished my 402 LS2 build in my '01 Z06. Specs as follows:

AFR 225's
eagle/diamond bottom
11.2 static comp
Cam-239/248 .649/.615 110LSA +1
1 3/4 LG headers, no cats
Morel lifters
Stock rockers
Fast 90/LS2 TB unported
1 3/4 LG headers, no cats

Longblock built by Dave Deluca,"Sled28"

Select help/tuning by Phil "Roadrebel"
Installed by myself

These guys were great to work with and I would do it all over again! Car is a brute, plain and simple, the cold prevents much traction, but is a great step up from my previous H/C setup. The 110 cam was a bit tough to get idling, perhaps a 111 would be better. In the coming cold months, the FAST 90 intake will be ported and an electric water pumphopefully as well (new MT 18" DRs when they come out, too)
Perhaps a stage or two of spray later!!

nice set up. 1 3/4 headers? why not 1 7/8? it's a new motor correct? if so you will get more with some break in miles on her.the new tq must feel insane. congrats to ya.

now thats some serious power for the street, and the torque must be fun as F*&%...I bet with some 1 7/8 headers and some slicks you could really turn some pavement

I've never seen back to back tests on 1 3/4 vs 1 7/8 on 400+ cubes. Anyone know of such a test? It would have to be at least 12hp for me to consider going to 1 7/8. I also am keeping the stocker Ti Muffs, could consider cut-outs though...

I've seen couple of dynos before and after. and all i can say that the minimum gain i saw was 9rwhp and the max was 30rwhp.

I did it about a year or so ago and posted the graph on here. its in this section somewhere.

it was on my 408. it picked up 5rwhp peak but pulled about another 500rpm before dropping off. it lost a lot of tq down low. about 30ftlbs.

1 7/8's are a waste on a street car. no way would I recommend them unless your spraying and racing a lot.

Thats about what I figured the gain would be--not too much unless it was a solid roller w/ spray, 7300+ rpms, etc. The LG Pro longtubes w/o cats are one of the best 1 3/4 set of pipes out there I think, not getting rid of them for now. The last semi-easy gains on motor I think I'll find are with the FAST 90 and TB to be ported over the winter, along with an electric water pump, and cutouts perhaps. Then to put it to the ground in a Z06, the toughest thing of all....

We've gone 9's on the stock Ti Mufflers (nitrous), so you might not need the cutouts. I think the bigger header will help since the AFR's have such a healthy exhaust port, it needs a header to keep up almost. Torque should go up too.

Great results bro. The more people I see posting up their success stories with 402's and 408's the more I want one.
