Default Dyno Predictions

I just installed kooks headers and custom catted y-pipe to go along with my slp lm 2, whisper lid, smooth bellow, 160 stat and going for a tune tomorrow, what are some predictions on how much power I will put out?

are you a M6 or A4? for M6 i would guess between 340 and 355hp. if you are A4, i would say 320 to 335hp.

I'm an A4. That seems a little low considering stock hp and then the mods

This puzzles me a little. Aren't these cars stock around 325? If yes why would I be on the other side of 350?

Stock these cars can put out between 280-320whp, depending on year of car. The 98's put out less power then the 01/02. Also, I hope you didn't add an LS6 intake manifold to your car, as it already came stock on the 01/02 models.

My guess is 330whp. A4's dyno around 10whp less then M6 models. Doesn't really matter cause it's what you run at the track that counts, and A4's usually fair better there

yeah man, A4's dyno lower than m6's. there are some factory freaks that make more but on average they typicaly dyno around 280 to 290 stock. dyno numbers dont matter, its the performance that makes a difference.

id rather have a car that dynoed lower and performed better anyways. that way, you can say, "he man, my car only has 3xx hp" and have the dyno graph to prove it. then watch their face as you blow buy them and take their money.

Default f-bodys where underrated

GM underrated their f-bodys from 98-02, its a good thing, i think they where advertising RWHP, while the others where stuck advertising flywheel HP, just my opinion, why they did it, who knos but i love that fact!!!!!!

and heres the proof underrated f-bodys

I have an 02. I was thinking after a tune I would be closer to 400. 330 still seems low.

last fall i tuned a buddys 02 ss. did a tune from scratch.. he had stock mainifolds, stock Y pipe with cats hollowd, stock tstat, K&N panel filter, lid and SLP LM...car put down 333rwhp and 348rwtq

did this tune without a WB or dyno and when it was put on the dyno the A/F was on the money and the power curves were smooth

I don't know how many people agree with me but it does seem a little odd that with the mods I made I would only put down stock #'s. I figured with the mods I should put down at the least 400hp

Dude, 330+ is not stock numbers! Stock with your A4 you would had been on the highside at 305RWHP. Id say with your mods you will be between 330-335 on a Dynojet.
Headers=20RWHP
Lid=10RWHP(on a good day)
K&N, smooth bellows, and 160*stat MAYBE all equall to 5RWHP.

Add the tune and you could see just over 350RWHP.
Those are very minor mods.

Look at my laundry list of mods, and i'm tuned. My car didn't put out anywhere near 400whp, and I have an M6 to boot. Headers will add a good chunk of torque, but not too much horsepower. Most i've ever heard of was a 30whp gain from them. Most people only see 20-25whp tops. Ehh, let us know how it goes.

A Catback exhaust will add 5-10whp. It ain't gonna add all that much. Those gutted cats and y pipe added quite a bit of power though. Ehh, didn't notice that. With a tune i'd say 340whp now. Didn't see that before.

I hate to be the guy that is gonna tell you this, but obviously you are not that familiar with LS1's in general and alot of time reading other posts and searching is going to be very beneficial to you. Not trying to be a jerk, but the best way to answer your questions is by reading, since you can decide for yourself what you want and not what someone else tells you is the best.
