Default Dyno calibration

Why would a dyno operator change barometric pressure and humidity half way through a dyno tuning session???

If the air/weather conditions changed he would be correct to change it. If not... that is a whole different story!

because its not making any power! Just kidding, most main stream dyno setups have their correction factors buil in to correct automatically on a SEA type correction based on feedback from its weatherstation.

Because atmospheric conditions are changing every second, half way thru a dyno session is not often enough, unless you're only making two pulls.

Realtime weather stations are nice to have. One less thing to worry about.

I don't think there is a valid reason to do it. Dynojets (from what I recall) have automatic weather settings that constantly poll for temp and humidity. I could be wrong though.

I know it's sold as an option with Mustang Dyno's, I think it's $2600, but I could be wrong. If you dont have a weather station, then it is something you do have to update during a tune.

I dont understand all the excitement about manually entering a correction. The auto updating weather station is really nice but people have been manually entering correction factors for many many years. As long as you have somebody that understands that and is honest about it, then that should not be a problem.

And btw.. there are probably more inconsistant things that are done that affect the testing more or as much than the on-average change of the correction factor during a test session.
Atmosphereic correction is only ONE part of it.

One time when one of my friends was dynoing I went with him, and the shop had the weather station inside the a/c'd office, and this was in the summer heat of florida.

Now that's funny, ours is attatched to the dyno computer stand.
