Default Updated Results for our 416/TrickFlow Stroker...

Im sure most of you have seen our other thread in regards to our recent build of a 416/TrickFlow Head Combo.......

Well last night we pulled out the 4:56s and installed 4:11s... This was done so the car can make it through the traps.... 4:56=123mph and 4:11s=137mph

Anyway, after the alignment today and the gear swap last night I decided to put the car on the dyno and see the difference the gear swap made.... This was the ONLY change to the vehicle..... Enjoy

I guess I expected more

That Z06 is a 6 speed, this car has a TH400 and a full drag race setup.. not exactly a "dyno queen."

Badass results Vengeance!

Here we go again...... but at least Chris81 can comprehend the big picture.

As I previously mentioned in the other thread, I specifically asked for my car to remain "street friendly". I got what I asked for, and then some.

Maybe it's just me, and I'm easy to impress, but take a close look at where the tq. is happening, and how LONG and FLAT it holds the peak tq. number.

I like it, and as far as I'm concerned, it's not just good, it's great for a non exotic "budget" build with a baby cam for the inches and a FAST 90/90 combo. But heh.... that's just me. I've got a sneaking suspicion this motor is going to LOVE a big wet HIT.

Maybe I'll just nut up and do a donkey dick cam, Vic jr. or sheetmetal/Accufab combo and re-tune so that it'll push more air, peak @ 7200 somewhere in the neighborhood of 560+ and post the graph so all the narrow minded, non believers can call BS on the numbers.

Please.

Take your stellar 358/378 on corn and go run your 13.1@108

As far as what it did unlocked, Ron may or may not answer that. Personally IDGAF what it dyno'd or that it isn't enough for the internet. What I give a ***** about is what it does at the track, and am confident that while it may or may not ET a stellar number first time out, it will mph.... WELL.

Thanx for all the effort Ron... see you in the AM

*EDIT*: I apologize to those reading this rant.... just get a little weary of all the frowns....

137 mph That's EASILY liter bike territory. Have fun raping 600's and most 750's, oh and 99.9% of any cars you run into on the street

Damn! you just **** on that guy

I agree as long as it runs good at the track the dyno is just a tool to get it there.

I wouldn't say those are stellar numbers but they're definitely not horrible. I would think it would hold power longer than it does with those heads. TEA ported heads falling off at 6k?

If 538rwhp is thru an automatic, that is automagically STUPENDOUS. That would be like 570-580RWHP thru a stick.

The TQ also is STUPENDOUS for an automatic.

Once again, the joke until they catch up. These TFS/Fast90/Auto numbers are higher than Hot L92/L76/6speed combination.

Congrats. Curious as to why there were 5 dyno pulls done from the swap of gears?

Damn, what's with all the hatin'. I guess some people just don't get it when it comes to an actaul car that is built for the track, vs. a dyno queen.

Congrats on the numbers, again. And again, I know where I will be coming for my future motor needs.

Killer numbers, cant debate that. TH400 and heavy driveline...........thats killing it. I am waiting to see how high it will trap. If it hits that 137mph mark, thats flat *** moving.

We thought it would hold on a little longer also, but I really don't think it's the TEA/TFS heads falling off..... they do flow real well up top(Thanx Brian )

Looking at the graph, my bet is it's either a small cam with advance ground in(which it is), and/or the FAST 90 choking up top(not enough air).

We'll see how it mph's Sunday and make a decision as to whether or not a change or two need to be made-

Thanx for all the replies(I think ).

I wonder if a reverse split cam would help? Would be interesting to see the results, as it seems like the LSx engine is always wanting more intake flow.

At this point we can only speculate. It was my decision to go w/a single pattern stick based on the head numbers and my previous good experiences w/single pat. cams.

Mike spec'd the cam based on my overall objectives.

I guess it doesn't really matter at this point anyways. Hell, if it was my car I would be tickled to death. I know you can't wait to hit the track. Keep us updated!

Yeah, that was a big concern when I did the swap....
Although the verter was locked, the old H/C 346 only lost 20rwhp/24rwtq. w/the TH400.

This Yank verter seems fairly efficient-

Thanx for the props guys, but all I did was drop it off at my buddy's shop w/a check
