Jason,
How much was milled and what Static and Dynamic compression was the car at? I am concerned about octane.

Thanks, James.

Damn Jon, the more and more I see about these heads, the more and more I want them! I need to give you guys a call about the little technical things before I order them.

I would love to see FAST numbers, seeing that I have a ported FAST 90/90.

The only change we made to the heads was milling them .030" down to a 59cc chamber bringing the compression ratio up to 11.25:1. Yes the numbers are SAE. Hopefully we can get some FAST numbers soon.

Thanks,
Brian

He's running a .040" Cometic gasket.

Oooh, that's a pretty graph I guess I need to get off my posterior and install those 59cc TSP 2.5 5.3's & .040 Cometic's which have been sitting by the wall for two months.

I've got a slightly different exhaust and forged pistons with valve reliefs but other than that a very similar combo waiting... how would a 227/235 110+2 .650/.650 LSK cam alter that graph? The cam is sitting in the same box as the heads

I dont know but it sounds like it would have crazy wicked low/mid range power. and prolly still very respectable upper end.

I did the calculations using the .040 gasket and 59cc chambers and it came out to be like 11.8...are the valve reliefs a couple cc's per piston to get it back down to around 11.25?
Not trying to be nit-picky, just trying to get some reference with regurad to safe compression and octane for our area.

Thanks Brian, I appreciate the info.

Don't be a dyno queen, take it to the track thats what really matters. All cars/motors are different and some dyno higher than others. The dyno numbers don't mean squat, it's just a tool used for tuning.

Why don't you guys ever post up the correction factors on your dyno sheets? Just curious.

Hey man don't get hung up over dyno numbers. Your car is making a lot of power for a heads and cam car. Just remember every car dynos differently and dyno numbers don't matter that much.
