Very Disappointing Numbers
Very Disappointing Numbers Hey guys, got to say that I am rather crushed by my numbers. Just had the car in for installs/Dynotune and was expecting a lot more.
Car:
2000 Z28 A4 16,7XX miles at time of tune/dyno
Installs:
Kooks Longtube Headers
Kooks Catted Y-pipe
Magnaflow exhaust
SLP 25% Underdrive Crank Pulley
Granatelli MAF
SLP Lid
Fast Toys Ram Air
BBK Intake
BBK T.B
EGR!
AIR!
Bosch 13111's
Numbers were:
Max HP: 304.8 rwhp
Max Torque: 339.1 fl-lbs
Any ideas? I know the rear-end is making some noise (gears/differential will be installed Monday). Although I did not check the tire PSI, it looks good and would guess somewhere in the 28-32 range.
Any suggestions/comments welcome. Thanks for the help

did you have your car tuned on a dyno?? I would try a different tuner. Its gotta be your tuner. you dont have much but bolt ons. get the PCM flashed with the stock tuning. I bet you get better numbers. If your car is in good condition is 100% gotta be your tune. A stock car would have dynoed better. How was it tuned?

Can you post your dyno graph. If your converter was unlocked your dyno numbers will be bad - torque will look high then ramp down funny. But your track times will be good.

i had lts, ORY, magnaflow catback, lid, filter, cutout, and thats pretty much it i dynoed 331 un-locked conveter....old graph is in sig. new numbers are with cam.. i defenatly think theres some ponys hidding somwhere in your car...

Sounds low on hp side, but the tq side sounds about right. Locked or unlocked, and where is your graph? It is probably in the tune somewhere as others have mentioned.
Thanks for the replies guys. The car was unlocked and I will try to get a couple graphs scanned today. As for the tuning, it was done with PCM. Also, with the three runs that they gave me, the average was a 294 rwhp, so I am not sure if it is better to go with average or best (could use an ego boost).

Unfortunatly I forgot to ask for a base dyno-run . Sorry for the crappy pictures too guys, the scanner was having a hard time picking up the lines, even with increased pixels.

That seems to be the consensus, but these guys have put out some high numbers with similar mods for other customers, what could account for the difference (besides the vehicle itself?).
What did the tuner say about it?They should know if there is a problem.
I know those GMS meters can screw you over sometimes.I've thrown a few of them in the trash because the tune would be screwy.

Problem found.
Tuner thought that the numbers were a bit low and suggested that the BBK intake/tb was robbing hp due to heat sink, which I believe to be true given that the best run was done after letting the car cool off (however the first run was also the worst, which would seem to contradict this idea).
Would having the car locked make up this 30'ish HP range? Found it odd that the torque was about right, but the hp was so off, so that could explain it(?).
Once the gears/differential (3.42) gets installed I will take the car down to the track to get some time slips, but any advice or suggestions you guys have would still be greatly appreciated.
