Every single one of us has a HP/TQ goal. It's how you start your build. Don't act clueless and start your retarded *** threads so you can gloat about how much power you should make.

I kinda like dyno prediction threads, the exp of seeing a dyno, knowing that the results you get are either bang on or off what everyone else is getting.
There's also the pleasant surprise when your dyno goes better than expected.
When I did exhaust on my car, QTP's website claimed as much as 40 point gain.
I had 306HP and 325ft/lb so that prediction was 346HP and 365 torque.
Now I don't go believing manufacturer's claims I was hoping for a conservative 15-25 boost all around. Told myself that if I got a tune hitting 340hp after the tune would be nice. (also 340HP is the magic number that says 400hp at the engine). Torque, I'd be happy to see just as much, 350 would be nice.
Imagine my surprise when my baseline told me 344HP and 354ft/lb before the tune... I finished off with the numbers in my sig after the tune. broke the 1hp=1ci mark sweet...

The interesting part is that these are potential customers of the shop that you are bagging on. If one of my techs had the name of my shop in their signature and went posting a thread like this representing me in this way the sig would probably be changed quickly to unemployed.
While I agree with your general idea on the prediction posts, I too look to this section to see what is going on and am looking for actual results not fortune telling!
I guess I only disagree with some of the wording being used when representing ones "skills and knowledge of the ls based motors". I personally would not want my shop represented in this manner.

If you really dont like prediction threads then scroll right past them and find something else, nobody makes you read them or you can even mess with them and tell BS stuff like adding a hood tach will be good for 40rwhp ....some people like to compare other setups to theirs, yea its not the best guideline to go by because every car is different but dont rip people apart over a thread...some people obviously have way too much free time on their hands
