As for the A/f ratio, once its that close, theres not alot to be gained. A few HP, but like I said earlier, you aint gonna get 20 hp.
nah im not offended, im used to looking around 899-1299 for some old patriot heads back in the day.

I had some similar misfire issues, and after changing wires, plugs, o2's, it ended up being bad coils. I took a set off a friends car, and the misfire went away. It looks like I failed to make sure the connector was properly sealed when I sprayed under the hood to clean. The pins had crap on them.

Fix the misfire first, then worry about the other things. Good luck.

I would listen to edcmat-l1. He is one hell of a tuner/engine builder!!!! What are your goals for your cam situation/goals for your car? I am thinking that your motor doesn't "like" the cam that you have. How's your valvetrain geometry looking?

I would bet you dont get 10 hp......
I didnt say what he would gain, I was just talking about the tune itself. Your right, its not going to gain much but its free HP whatever the amount is. The other problems like codes were already talked about in depth pretty good and the tune was in question if it was good enough or not.

an interesting tidbit...i checked wire/plug #3 while i had 1 spare til my msd's get here tomorrow.....the wire was toasted and hanging by a thread, and the plug was screwed in hand tight...as in i unscrewed it with my hand. im fairly certain thats one cuase of the misfire(although the wire got messed up sunday/monday), and a loss of compression. until my new wires get here tomorrow it drives ok with a small miss, that hopefully wires will solve. now the loss in compression might have kept my numbers down. we'll see.

I wasnt tryin to be a dick. I agree the tune needs work. I was just stating that the tune really doesnt look like a reason for a SIGNIFICANT loss of power. Thats all.
Furthermore, the A/F is the only real indicator of the tune we have to go by. The timing, we can only go by what he said. Unless it (the tune) has been posted and I missed it.

That configuration has made into the 530rwhp range with Fast 90 setup. The 257/266 camshaft has made good power on many different occassions with far less compression. My personal car had that camshaft & made 495rwhp with a automatic trans & big verter @ 11.5 compression.

one thing that hasnt been posted yet is these 1 3/4" grott headers arent in anything that resembles decent shape. this car is SLAMMED and the headers are bent, dented, have had holes punched in them and welded, and im betting some primaries have less than a 1.25" ID. this car has 40-50 hp in headers, exhaust, and flatting the a/f

you are right, i never thought of that. i keep thinking about swaping springs so i can fit some kooks later on down the line. theres no way kooks would survive with these DMS'.

My ported FAST really woke up my 408. I am a believer in that intake now, especially for a 408.

seems to respond better now. first run out today in 95* heat, it pulled 470rwhp, 17rwhp more than last time out. this was through full exhaust. open the cutouts, and it pulled 495rwhp/440rwtq, then we messed around and took out the filter, and the belt off, and it did 508rwhp/453rwtq.

so it picked up 17rwhp through exhaust, and roughly 27rwhp/22rwtq through cutouts with 10* more heat, new wires, and a switch to mobil 1 sythetic being the only major differences. ill look for a pic of my headers to show what ryan, "tally t/a", is refering to. but its not pretty. im more comfortable now with the thought the rest should be picked up through some 1-7/8" kooks when i can get some, and porting the FAST intake.

17 = last exhaust run w/ filter.
18 = first open cutout run w/filter.
19 = open cutout, no filter, no belt.

My FLPs look exactly the same. Thats why I refuse to put some expensive Kooks or QTPs on my car.
